i grew up in a small town, and things got around quick...I was pretty straight laced in high school, so I didn't really end up getting drunk until the day that i moved down to CR, and somebody from high school saw me at the apts at kirkwood and had me come over. the next two night were spent drinking like crazy. during the course of the evening, I was handed a Milwaukee's Best, and it didn't take me long to realize that it was nasty stuff.

This. Steel Reserve actually tastes worse the more you drink it.

Generic light beer. Back in the day you could buy generic beer that was in a white can with the word "Beer" on the front of it. No brand name. It was brewed by the Falstaff company, and as bad as the generic beer was...the generic light beer was worse.

Grain Belt - it was stored in the back of a bar in Cedar Rapids, probably for a very very long time. I bought four cases for four bucks.

You couldn't get drunk enough to drink it.

There once was a beer brewed in Warsaw, Illinois called "Burgermeister". I think they took the brewing water directly from the Mississippi a few mile past the Keokuk Lock and Dam. The WORST beer ever made. It was so bad that in my callow youth, when a car load of us would cruise the alleys in Fort Madison looking for open garages where cases of bottled beer might be stored, we REFUSED to steal "Burgy". For undrinkability, "Burgy" was closely followed by "Hamms" which was my parents favorite beer. Gad, I hated having to sneak a couple of those. Those two were the worst over my lifetime.

I think the box said it was brewed with prunes. If by prunes they meant "the diarrhea of a heard of mutts with worms", then they were correct. I think it was like 9 bucks for a 30. I didn't buy it. The ice version was only slightly better. Worst hangover of my life, and I really didn't drink that much of it.

My wife turned 30 3 years ago and her brother bought her a 30 pack of you guessed it Beer 30. In the bottom of our crisper in the garage I think theres still 20-25 Beer 30's. The only reason I keep the shit around is for Beer can chickens on the patio otherwise the stuff is a instant headache in a can. Hamms is also a beer you would have to pay me to drink the stuff has such a foul aroma and aftertaste.
