Off Topic Board

so, when I get to work I change into a different clothes. we have a locker in our department office, and i typically wear gym shorts under the pants I come to work in and just change in at my locker.

Well, today I was told that it was tacky to change at my locker especially since we are next to a walkway with considerable traffic even though I could come in off the street wearing the clothes I am in when I put my work clothes on and that some people walking by might take it the wrong way if they see me removing my pants (even though i have gym shorts underneath)

My choices given to me were to change in the bathroom, or a small locker room on the other end of the basement where I am at. This area is so small that there is only a narrow walkway between two rows of lockers, and the only bench is at the end, against the wall……next to the urinal. And that's not tacky? I replied saying that I not only found that equally as tacky, but unsanitary and that I trust that administration and facilities would work to get us a changing area that is not a designated bathroom, and is also in a seperated space away from the toilets/urinals. I am sure that other departments that are seen as more prestigious have ample amounts of space in their changing areas...but despite how they like to tell us we are all equally important, what they say and what actually happens are two entirely different things.
