You must make some decent money. The payroll tax is basically social security and medicare. Somewhere in the 7 to 8 % range, I don't feel like looking it up right now.. This is money you get back later in life.

Apparently, a lot of the folks don't realize that the 2% increase in FICA, this year was only due to the
2% temporary reprieve of FICA payroll tax, instituted 2 years ago.

While it undoubtedly put more money in the pockets of the folks and potentially stimulated the economy, it was a very
Odd thing to do, considering how much we hear about Social Security fund being in trouble, with so many Boomers hitting
retirement age.
