What are your thoughts on the NBA?

  • It is ugly but he hits hit. I'm just saying I think they can win with Rose and Noah as the main pieces. I don't think they necessarily need to bring in someone else to win a championship. It may be asking Rose to do a lot but I think he is up to it, if he comes back ok. Big if I guess. It would be nice if they could get a Kevin Love but I just don't see someone like that coming to Chicago.

You have to have at least one more scoring THREAT, in case your main guy is having a bad game. Sure the Bulls have threats, but they're not guys that can do it regularly. Boozer is a weak spot in that roster. He's getting paid wayyy too much money to be average in the playoffs.

He can't play defense either. He was doing good early in the season. banghead

Boozer sometimes doesn't even finish games when Taj Gibson is healthy.

Sorry brah, but you saying Rose and Noah can win a title being the 2 main guys is just hilarious. You are a true example of a Homer.

They had a chance last year until Rose went down. I think they could have beaten Miami last year.

Yes Maury it is. You don't realize it, because you're a homer. But it really is crazy. They weren't going to beat Miami last year, nobody was. You just can't see that.

They had size on Miami that's how you beat them. They has Asik and Korver last year. Now Korver never showed up in the playoffs, but he is capable of hitting open 3s. You never know what is going to happen in sports. They could have pulled it off.

The Pacers match up better w/ Miami than Chicago does. The Bulls will never win a title if they decide to have Noah as Rose's "wingman." That's absolutely ridiculous Maury. It almost makes me mad that you can't see that. I wish Worly would chime in, I'd like to get a 2nd UNbiased opinion on this subject.

Ps the Thunder had size on Miami too, and that didn't work out too well. Size really has nothing to do with it because Miami has a relatively shorter team.

Its also the most fair weather fanned city ever. When the teams are good, sold out and impossible to get a ticket. When they're bad, free tickets and incentives to go. Crazy.

    I've noticed that as well.

Not really as much as Chicago would have had. Serge and Perkins? That's really not that impressive. The Bulls did have the best record in the league last year so I don't know how you can call me a homer there?

  • I think Chicago can win a title with Noah as a starter, but not as their second scorer. He's not offensively skilled enough to produce on a consistent basis, especially when you're playing against the best defenses in the league in the playoffs.

You conveniently leave out Durant and Westbrook.

Thank you. You showed up at the perfect time, I was starting to get a bit irritated with Maury lol

Durant isn't that great defensively down low.

Lebron's Cavs had a top 2 record for multiple years during the regular season. The regular season means nothing in the playoffs. Maury you're a homer. Get over it.

But he's a MUCH tougher matchup being 6'10 than Noah is against anyone in the post. Once again, Noah isn't an offensive threat. You were talking about size, you can't leave out Durant when it comes to a height advantage bud.

He really isn't there 2nd scorer now. It's usually a different player each night. It could be Deng, Boozer, Noah, or whoever. I think that makes what makes Chicago difficult when healthy. They have a lot of options when they are healthy. They play as a team.

Durant is also extremely long for a three man, so not many teams have as much size as OKC does. IMO, Ibaka is pretty soft, though, and Perkins is very limited offensively, so Miami could overcome that advantage.

One thing that really hurts opponents of the Heat is that Miami is so athletic that they can kill you on the boards. LeBron, especially in the playoffs, is a heck of a rebounder for a small forward. If the Celtics had been able to limit Miami's second shots, Boston would have won that series in 5, but that's extremely difficult to do.

Also, if you have anyone on the court that is limited offensively, LeBron will guard him and just roam all over the court and help everyone else. Because of that, you really need all five guys to be able to hit midrange jumpers, at the very least. That's where having someone like a Noah, Perkins or Rondo on the floor can really hurt you. And that's why when Rondo was hitting his jumpers in the playoffs last year, Miami couldn't stop the Celtics.

Regarding a Chicago-Miami matchup, Deng can probably do just about as good of a job as anyone of guarding LeBron. Who does Chicago have coming off the bench that can guard LeBron for 10 minutes a game? And do they have anyone that can slow down Wade?

That's exactly it Maury. Chicago needs a PROVEN night in/night out 2nd option. The other guys that step up on random nights are suppose to do that, but as 3rd and 4th options. You can't rely on guys like that in the playoffs as a 2nd option.

I see what you're saying, but I think that's why they run into trouble in the playoffs against great defensive teams. Rose will get his, but it'll be difficult, so you really need someone else that can pick up the slack even with the other team focusing on him. I think Deng is the most likely to do that, but against teams like Miami or Boston, he has to guard the other team's best player, so that's asking a lot of him. I don't think Boozer or Noah can consistently score against quality defenses in the playoffs. They're both very good rebounders that will score a lot of garbage points, but I don't think they're guys that can consistently score within the flow of the offense against a quality defense.

  • Let's look ahead to a possible Boston-Chicago matchup in the playoffs with the assumption that Rose returns and is 100%...

I honestly think Rondo is a top two or three point guard in the league, but Avery Bradley is a much better on-ball defender. He'll make it tougher on Rose than just about anyone else in the league can. Courtney Lee is also an outstanding backcourt defender, so he'd most likely guard Rose whenever Bradley isn't on him. Deng guards Pierce very tough, but it's not like Deng routinely torches Pierce on offense. I think that's a pretty even matchup. Boston would probably put Garnett on Boozer, and Garnett would be able to outplay him every night. Noah could be the X-factor with his energy on defense and on the boards, but if that's all Brandon Bass and Chris Wilcox (off the bench) are asked to do, I think they're up to it. Coming off the bench with Jason Terry, Jeff Green and Jordan Crawford, the Celtics actually have bench players that can create their own shot for the first time in forever.

I said all that to say this - the best teams in the league won't let Rose beat them singlehandedly. Over the course of a seven game series, I don't know where they find enough points on a nightly basis to advance past the second round.

  • I understand why you guys are saying they don't have enough offense. Believe me I wish Boozer would step it up. But I think you guys are missing just how dominate defensively The Bulls can be. Worly you know Thibs is a defensive coach. He could have a lethal defensive starting 5 in

    Rose
    Butler(Kobe Stopper)
    Deng
    Gibson
    Noah

At their best you won't find a better defensive team. You could even throw in Hinrich off the bench to chase Wade around, he has always played Wade well. The Bulls will struggle to score points I get that. But at there best defensively, it won't matter. And Deng D's up LeBron about as best as anyone can.

My sweet lord, did you really put "kobe stopper" in there? I had never even heard of Butler until you posted that article from ESPN Chicago. You have to be in the league for more than 2 years, and have a history of stopping someone like that to get a nickname. He'll probably end up like the last "Kobe Stopper" aka Ruben Patterson. This is why I say you're a homer Maury. You can't put aside any feelings and give non-biased opinions. With this roster this year, the Bulls have a ZERO chance against the Heat in the playoffs. And I freaking HATE the Heat.
