Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

  • I agree. Daryl will kill Merle to protect another in the group. No chance he joins ricks group. Did I miss something? We haven't seen Lori yet have we? She wasn't where she was supposed to be when Carl supposedly shot her. I don't know. Maybe I missed it.

  • Agree with everyone about the Merle/Daryl thing.

I don't want them to die! Did I post this already
    ?
I think MaGgie gets to choose save her dad ( because he comes to save her) or her Asian boy. She will choose Asian and resent him for it. Ok maybe not.

  • Just watched the last episode. Damn cliffhanger. Although it looks like Darryl will live since they showed him in the preview for the rest of the season. Carl be kicking butt lately.

Did you know that neither Merle nor Darryl are in the comic book? They were specifically created for the TV show.

  • I might be missing something here but watched the "mid season finale", Sunday pm. Rick and company attack Woodbury (anything to do with Sioux City?) to retrieve Maggie and Glen. shoot um up blow um up pure carnage.

Michonne rams a fish tank thick 8 inch knife shaped chunk of glass into the gov's eye. He puts on a gauze patch and addresses the crowd as he presents Merle and Darryl as the terrorists. That stretched my limits of beliveiability. It didn't even seem like he had a headache with an eye missing. I pulled a muscle last week and don't feel as good as he looked. Ok, if I believe the Zombie part I guess anything can happen.....

I think you answered your own question. It reminds me of my kids who complain about how every shot is a head shot and that they rarely miss. If you have suspended belief far enough to accept that there are zombies that have taken over the world, then the rest isn't really that much of a leap.

That was a pretty easy way out. I respectfully disagree with both of you guys.
First this series started based on science. The Zombie condition, whether you think it could happen or not, was based upon the premise that a virus caused the condition. That is acceptable science. Whether you think that could actually happen or not is is up for debate.

To think that you have to suspend all of the rules of science after that, is your own choice. I personally don't chose to suspend all of the things I have learned.

I like the show partly because I think that maybe it is possible to believe some of it.

To believe that a guy who is not an undead and who is still adhering to the laws of the universe can have a 8 inch piece of sharp glass shoved into his eye and function normally after just having some nurse pull it out and patch it with gauze just doesn't cut it with me. A little zombie humor there. Or wait, zombies don't have a sense of humor.

Well when you put it that way Mt I cant disagree. But the whole zombie concept is a farce, they kill and eat the living, well if they eat the hell out of everyone they kill there wouldnt be any zombies as everyone would be ate to the bone. But you are right about the glass in the eye part if you looks at it in a science sense. I just choose to look at it as it is a zombie show so whatever. I wasnt trying to take the easy way out I just agreed with what Js said.

Yeah it's all just crazy zombie fun entertainment. Although, I think I may have seen a couple of real ones when I stopped at a mall on my way through Spokane a couple of weeks ago.

  • A couple things to appease the doubters.

The glass didn't go the whole way in. it was approximately 8 inches, but if you take into account how much was covered by Michonne's hand, probably only 3 inches or so went into his head before the glass broke off. Sure, he'd be in a ton of pain, but he's trying to show little weakness to his group.

As for the head shots, Rick is highly trained, and has trained nearly everyone in his group. They've been doing this for a long time now. Shooting walkers is like 2nd nature. They know where to aim and how to shoot. Hitting a slow moving walker from 10 feet away in the melon wouldn't be that hard to do for someone who is familiar with shooting. Just sayin.

I'm still in shock they killed off Lori. Didn't see that coming. I guess I assumed that she would stick around and her and rick would work things out. Guess not.

As for how their are a bunch of walkers, not everyone gets chowed on completely. A lot of people that were bit just got one bite then ran away and turned later. Only the ones that get trapped and fully devoured don't come back as walkers. That is my logic. We've seen a lot of people on the show that got bit and got away. I'm sure it was even more prevalent in the beginning.

I guess I begin with the premise that it is not even remotely possible for the dead to come back to life, and accept it for the science fiction that it is. I am willing to suspend my disbelief in order to be entertained, and then I follow the storyline rather than focusing on all the fine details. I'm a skeptic in real life, and if this show was being presented as a documentary of something that actually could happen, whether as a whole or in part, I would have dismissed it long ago.

  • The further this dhow goes on the more characters are going to die and more will be introduced to us. Like Michonne so people will be sad about the long term characters dying but like new incoming ones, which in my opinion makes it a tad more real because no way do the same people manage to keep alive the whole time. And Kc hit it on the head as far as shooting. BUT I have been watching the first 2 seasons every night for awhile now and really they do not always hit them in the head every time. Either way I love this show tons I dont care to think about all of that stuff and will just enjoy it for its face value.
I mean with losing 24 and House and countless other great dramas it is great I found another one I enjoy so much and honestly I could keep watching this over and over.

1.) to go on what KC said. Not every shot is a head shot but a lot of them are. Anyways if you haven't got great on doing head shots this late in the game, you've already died. Evolution.

2.) As another poster said. I've yet to see Lori's dead body. I'm betting something comes about this. Either she's a walker & Rick pussys out on killing her or she miricaley returns from a wound that wasn't as bad as we thought (Carl wussed on shoting her.). Long story short on Lori, we never saw her dead body & I'm not convinced her sexy long legs won't be back.

I know it is all silly crazy entertainment and nobody has ever seen a Zombie, but on this show aren't the zombies just people who got bit or started out with some virus and are walking around doing their thing until they get killed or die? I don't recall seeing anybody coming up out of the grave like on those even sillier Night of The Walking Dead movies? Which by the way, I happened to be channel surfing this afternoon and saw the 1968 original on HBO. I watched for a few minutes but couldn't stay tuned for that laugh fest.

I agree, it is all just for fun and as long as it is well done I'll keep watching too..

  • For all of you in the know about this show and the comic books, I have a question.

When Glen ( I think his name is Glen, Maggies boyfriend) stabbed the guard dude with the broken off bones from the dead zombies arm, would that guy become a zombie if he didn't die from the stab?
