They set out to catch enough fish to fry up for a United Way fundraiser. But an Upstate New York man and his son returned with a monster.
Blake Visin and his son, Tyler, along with some friends and family, went fishing earlier this week on the Wateree River in the Lugoff-Camden area.

Visin is the director of information technology at ReWa, the renewable water resource service in Greenville.
The group caught the usual assortment of channel and flathead catfish, a staple in the Midlands river, Visin said.
But what they didn't expect was the blue catfish Visin and his son reeled in.
The giant tipped the scales at a whopping 70 pounds, according to Visin.
The bounty from the yearly fishing respite will be used Thursday night as the main course for ReWa's annual fish fry, benefiting the United Way.
This year, the Visin haul alone will feed more than 100 employees.
