Post your once a week must cook recipe

  • I cook some Tilapia with some Jerk seasoning about once a week. Cheap and easy.

  • I don't usually make the same thing in a week, let alone consecutive weeks. Besides maybe a deli sandwich, but that doesn't count.

  • Pretty much fish and chicken and mushrooms all the time for me. But since my husband's been home I haven't cooked for a while.

Shoot recipe didn't attach, I thought I could add it that way. Chicken is easy I can throw it in the crockpot. A cube of butter a pack of dry Italian dressing sprinkle lemon juice and throw a few bay leaves in. Sometimes use turkey breasts. Fish I buy mostly tilapia because it isn't fishy tasting I will try the jerk Morrison posted, I cook it the same way only with lemon pepper. Mushrooms no recipe just put oil and mushrooms in a pan.

    1 cup oatmeal
    1 C white flour
    1 t salt
    Blend well...add proof

add approx 8-10 C more white flour
Kneed it out, let it rise till doubled in size
grease and flour 4 bread tins

Doubled? kneed it down into 4 loaves and place in tin. let rise till over the top of tin.

1st loaf is consumed in butter when it comes out. 2ND loaf goes to work with me for breakfast. 3rd stays at home, 4th in freezer or to an elderly couple down the road.

That's crazy! I used to eat that combonation all the time! Loved it. SOme years back though I switched it up and started putting cubed ham in the shells and cheese with a generous helping of Tabasco.

Cubed ham makes everything better. A box of au gratin potatoes with cubed ham used to be my favorite.
