Pet ashes

so, somebody on facebook had a dog pass on the other day.
she just posted that they have the ashes with them and then a comment about being sad.
is that weird to have your pet's ashes? I never even would consider it when my dogs pass on. maybe i am hearless? *shrugs*

so, what would you do, spread the ashes on your yard?
I guess it isn't as creepy as those people who take their pets to a taxidermist, and as much as I love my dogs and would be sad when they are gone...i don't think I would want their ashes

I would just spread them on my yard or park or something. I'm sure I wouldn't keep them.

We just buried our pets. Having the ashes around of anyone always seemed a little odd to me.

Yeah not sure I actually want to keep the ashes, or even bring them home, but I could understand people who do.

We had to put down our family dog of 16 years back in February. My little sister keeps the ashes in a little personalized container thingy. Understandable though, she had a rough time with it and it helps her deal with it. We got the dog when she was 4, and she's 20 now. No pics.

I don't think it's all that odd. I've buried pets in the backyard and put a marker up, but I can understand how some people might be comforted with having the ashes in an urn nearby.

My sister has done this with 2 cats. I don't find it that weird. pets are family especially if you have kids.

I think we have/had the ashes from our first dog. I wanted them. I don't care if its weird, she was family to me.
