People with kids

  • So me and my wife are talking about having a kid. We have been married for 2 years and think its time. How much work is it? I think ill make my wife get up in the middle of the night, there is no way I'm doing that. I feel like I'm exhausted at the end of day now, I cant imagine what its gonna feel like once I have a kid. Ughh

  • Good luck. That is my nightmare. I'm 29 going on 22 though... so there's that.

  • It is not as bad as people make it sound. Babies are easy just keep them fed and they stay happy. My youngest is crazy but at least he sleeps a lot. Im lucky my kids were both good sleepers. Only thing I would say people regret the kids they never had but nobody regrets the ones they did have.

Oh and I don't mean people who don't want kids wish they did have kids. People who do not want kids should not have kids. I'm sure there are people who do regret kids they have I just mean if you don't have kids because you are afraid you will be tired you will probably regret that.

  • They are a lot of work. I get to spend time with my neices for 3 days every 3 months. First day is awesome, second day I'm already exhausted and third day is annoying. I don't know how ppl do it full time, I can barely take care of myself!

  • I married into a 10 year old. He's a great kid, so there's no trouble there. Toughest battles we have are telling him 2-3 times to get in the shower or get to bed. Typical kid stuff. Otherwise no problems. Good in school. Doesn't get in too much trouble. We're lucky.... So far.

Baby will be here in June. I'll keep ya posted Clopek. I got no idea what the hell I'm getting myself into. My hunch is that Mrs Bleed will be doing the bulk of the work so she doesn't have to worry about it getting all effed up by yours truly. That, and my tits can't make milk. /sadface....

Don't worry, in a couple years you'll have to yell at him to quit spending so much time in the shower.

what me and the missus did was we alternated nights who got up with him. early on when he was breastfeeding, we would have some stored that i would use (although the breastfeeding didn't last long).

anyway, i had some nights where after getting 3-4 hours of sleep it was nice to know that the next night i could sleep knowing that she was getting up the next night with him.

one thing that i noticed that took more work was just going out anddoing anything. you got to load up a diaper bag, a stroller if you are going to be gone a while, and just the time it takes to get ready just to get out of the door increased. my boy is 4, and I thought about taking him to dairy queen tonite, but i didn't want to have to get his shoes on, get him loaded in the car, get him out of the car to stand in line for ice cream, load him back in the car and come home.

It's not that hard to put them in the car. Especially since I'm sure he can put his own shoes on and walk to the car open the door and climb in. You might want to check to make sure the seat is buckled up good but Come on it's not that big of a deal! Just teasing I know sometimes its the little things that I dwell over too.

This is the type of stuff that I'm talking about. Sounds like so much work just to do the littlest thing! Ugh, I guess I better start bangin em out now so I can get em out of the house earlier and enjoy my retirement without kids around!
