  • Doesn't say on TV right now. The alleged shooter is in custody. It seems the shooter emptied a clip and then fled on foot. They caught him "some distance" from the school.

  • Pretty scary stuff. We had 2 different stuff happen near my school when I was in HS and I still remember it. Its a shame that these kids are going to have to remember this the rest of their lives.

OldOaken247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.

  • MSN's home page reporting one dead so far.

Just terrible. A parent is supposed to feel safe about having their kids in school. Sadly it's not that way anymore.

  • When I was in middle school, some kids started a rumor that a girl said she was bringing in a gun to shoot people. THe FBI and PD were there all week. The girl had to transfer schools and nothing happened to the kids that started the rumor.

  • Basic 1st-response aid and CPR should almost be taught at every high school and college, it's getting to the point where doing this could actually save multiple lives each year. I guarantee if there's just a few kids and/or teachers who can overcome the shock of what happened and keep some of these people alive just by knowing to apply pressure to wounds and if necessary, turnicate an appendage to prevent blood loss. Only problem is some stupid parent would probably forget that their son/daughter just about died, and sue whoever helped them if their kid lost an arm or leg. SMH no

As long as your certified in CPR/emergency procedures your protected under the good Samaritan law. Just have to renew the simple test every two years

  • i don't ever recall school shootings happening when I was in school (graduated in 93).
i recall us having a bomb threat when I was in 8th grade. we got the day off of school.

it seemed like back then though, parents actually did their job as parents for the most part and I know growing up, I got a butt whoopin' with a belt on a few occasions. Not saying that you have to discipline with a belt, but when did we get to a point where spankings are considered abuse? (with that said, if you are a dumbmoon and take it too far with the spankings...then you should be dealt with accordingly)

  • When I was in like 2 nd grade a highschooler brought a gun to school and tried to use it on another boy. I didn't see it because I was in the elementary part of the school. I remember the kids name was Jamie so everyone sang Jamie's got a gun for the rest of the year. The bad thing is he didn't even get suspended for it. Times have changed.

  • We had a couple bomb threats in middle school from kids who didn't want to take a test. School was cancelled for the day but we went back the next. We also got out once because the power went out after a squirrel got fried on the transformer (at least that was the story).

I was known to get the belt on occasion, however I fought back instead of just taking the beating.

We got out for the power being out all the time. I wonder if Dike has decent electricity yet?

Yeah, I learned real fast it's better not to try to fight back. Or mouth off when yer getting a lickin'

I stopped getting paddled when I stopped crying. I'm 32 and that was the norm when I was a kid. I've got three younger brothers and I don't remember the youngest (24) ever getting spanked. Times, they be a changin'

I'm kind of thick-headed, I refused to learn my lesson. I think my dad tried doing it to me once or twice in high school and my mom almost called the cops.

  • We had a couple "bomb threats" and I think maybe "gun threats" but I think those usually originated on a bathroom wall or something. Also Columbine happened when I was like in 7th grade I think, so for a couple of those, they let people go home, or told us not to come to school the next day.
