    Check out www.crossfit.com. There are literally hundreds of workouts on there, and the vast majority have video demonstrations. They're all very difficult, but you can scale them to whatever level you want. People of all ages and abilities do it. It's all relative, because you time each workout, so you're competing against yourself. And the improvement is tangible, and becomes very addicting. Try three or four workouts in a week, and see how you like it.

    i will have to check that out.

    I was planning on running today, but woke up yesterday to the start of a cold and today with chest and head congestion. It was inevitable, my boy has had a couple colds in the past month or so, and there has been a lot of illness going around work this past month.

    i don't think I would've made it that far had I gone out.

  • I'm down to 223.2 lbs. Hopefully I can keep it up. That's almost 5lbs. Slowly but surely.

  • Hit my goal of 220. Weighed in tonight at 218.6. Now healthily maintain it for a week before I start fr 210.

  • I'm kind of nervous to weigh in tonight. After starting out the first week strong, I haven't been doing so well lately. I haven't run at all but I have still been eating better. I hope at least don't gain weight this week.

    Good luck. I think what you eat is like 80% when it comes to weight loss, so you probably will be fine when you weigh in.

  • You should get a calorie counter website like lose it or my fitness pal. Helps so much.

    I'm starting a new goal this week. 210 lbs. I'm currently at 216.5. We'll see how it goes after I spend a week in Austin next week

  • I like the talk on this thread. I was at 260 lbs when i was 21 and now I'm 23 and weigh 185..... ... honestly the toughest thing I've ever done in my life. I dont know about other guys here that are bigger but eating was the toughest thing for me. I still have the mentality to want to eat a lot but its all in your head...you gotta stay strong and tell yourself when to stop or to say 'no thanks' to food. Keep working out guys but like misty said watch what you eat!

    Have you had to buy a bunch of new clothes? Maybe I'm just imaging it, but it feels like my pants are starting to get bigger and sagging more. Kind of early for that I would think.

  • I've been thinking about trying to get back into shape (I'm not exactly in BAD shape 5'10" 180, 33" waist) but I'm far from where I was when I served in the Army. The problem is, I'm not sure if my neck can take the strain of lifting or the impact of running.

  • I went to Pizza Ranch for the buffet today. I haven't really eaten out much since starting this and I should avoid those kind of places. But I drank water and didn't stuff myself and feel like I needed to get wheeled out of there.

    The person working the front there was on the phone when we came in. There was a sign there that said seat yourself. So I just walked right by her and sat down without paying first. Well we started eating and we could have ate there for free. But I noticed what I did and went back and paid.

  • i need to get back on the wagon...this cold I have had for two weeks has been brutal. I feel like it is going away one day, and the next and I feel worse than I did the previous couple days.

    i have really been out of sorts the past week and a half....kind of in a weird mood and have been really annoyed at work which caused me to go back to a some old habits (not as bad as previous). you know, i don't drink a lot or smoke, but i got some strong demons when it comes to my diet.

    I had some really bad habits also. I have just drank nothing but water and beer. Only a couple Bud Selects though. I was really bad with pop. But I replaced that with water. And started snacking on apples and bannanas instead of candy bars. I have started to run more since the weather is nicer. I am getting sick of eating turkey sandwiches. I hope I don't fall back into my old ways. I don't think I will. This may sound crazy but me posting the pic really motivates me. I don't want to fail and just post another similar pic to my old self. I am still wasting calories and drinking beer though. I should probably cut that back to 0 soon. But if I keep losing a couple pounds I guess I don't see a reason to? shrug

  • It's kind of crazy how you can just drink like 2 20 oz pops a day and not even think about it. I think I'm at the point now where I can have one every now and then, like every few days. You don't need to be drinking pop everday. But I haven't tried one since I started this diet. Just water, beer, and some diet drink crap. I don't think I will test myself yet and just stay away from pop. Just water and beer for me for now.

    my problem with me is that at work, after about 6:30, i slow down a lot. So, it is easy to go to the cafeteria and get something to munch on when I am slow. Of course, my mind confuses hunger with boredom.

    I did used to go and hit drive thru's a lot, but i haven't done that in a few weeks...so that is one bad habit down.

    This cold really knocked me off of the game. i went out for a run that one day, the next day I was stuffed up, and my head was congested for 4 days afterword, so I haven't been out since. Then I feel like I am getting over it one day and then the next day i am just miserable again. Now, my boy is getting another cold...so I hope that doesn't hit me again (the one i got was from his last one).
