  • In the spirit of this...I'm gonna make a serious effort to lose some pounds with you guys. It probably won't be an exercising everyday thing with studying and whatnot, but I'm making a effort. Definately trying to eat a little better. I don't really drink pop and (unfortunately) not much beer now.

    i also have to try to get more sleep. The test schedule sometimes doesn't favor my sleep schedule. But the lack of sleep causes me to take in lots of coffee, which results in elevated BP.

    I'll try to throw some pics up tomorrow. I rock a flip phone so they're probably going to be myspace style mirror pics.

  • Well I guess I'm starting slowly. I cut back on the beer. I could still be eating better, and didn't really exercise much. I guess it's a start shrug. I really need to run tomorrow. Going to no matter what.

    had no soda. see if have a headache tomorrow.

  • Yeah I had lemonade instead of pop. Probably not the best alternative either. The headaches were already getting to me today.

    probably not caloric wise, but i think it may be an appropriate alternative if you are trying to get through the caffeine headaches. I know about 8 years ago, I decided to quit drinking pop cold turkey and drink nothing but water. I carried a 1 liter bottle with me everywhere, and filled it up probably 6-8 times at work (and was going to the bathroom a lot also). I ended up dropping about 60 pounds that summer...not really sure what got me drinking pop again, but unfortunately i did. hope it melts that quick this time around,

  • Yeah I think I can cut pop out somewhat easily. It's the beer I'm worried about.

    i don't drink too much. during a typical week, a 6 pack every week, week and a half.

    Coffee. You'll get over the taste. If you don't add sugar or cream, 50 ounces is only 10 calories.

  • I weighed in tonigh at 220.7 which is 17.8 pounds down from Jan 1 and less than 1 pound away from my first goal.

    Goal is reached when I weigh under 220 for 2 consecutive weeks.

  • ok, I went out for a run. i start out by saying that I know my run pace is probably slower than a lot of peoples walk pace...but i don't care...i guess it beats the fatties that don't have a pace.

    now, it has been 2 summers ago since i have run consistently. i went out a handful of times last summer.
    I will say that I am happy that the distance shown in the photo was all done with my run pace (with a 10 minute or so walk home once I stopped the timer).

    BOOM.

  • and I will say that I am happy with the distance, regardless of time because i was weighed yesterday and currently weigh more than I ever have.
    yesterday was a depressing day for me.

  • Hmmm I don't have anything to track my distance. But I just got back from my run. I went pretty close to 20 minutes at a light jog speed. I had to stop once for 20 seconds or so and walk. Not bad for my first time out in a while. I'm just going to try and start running as best as I can for 20 minutes, 5 days a week. Man I'm so out of shape. The hills destroyed me. But I ate pretty good today, not the best, but definately better. And I only had water all day. I will have a beer or 2 tonight. No more than 2.

  • i have gone 2 days without soda. not gonna lie...i was craving one hard earlier until i got done with the run.

    my legs are pretty sore now.

    i got that thing for christmas a few years ago when I was running consistently. I like to know how far i can make it.

    i used to do the Nike+ for the ipod, and the thing was never terribly accurate. drove me nuts. It was off a half a mile or so when I tested it on a 5k run.

    Keep it up man. Think how awesome it will be to say that you went 3 days. Then 4. It's a daily thing at first, don't think too big.

    Make your motivation your own standards. Don't let a 20 oz bottle of crap let you feel like you let yourself down. Stay away from it.

    yeah, i have done it before, about 8 years ago or so...gave it up for six months. not sure exactly why i started drinking it again. I haven't had any headaches yet. I am hoping that i weened myself down enough to the point where the caffeine headaches won't happen. Cravings and the headaches are what always have sucked me back in my recent previous attempts. Going out for that joggy run thing knocked that craving out. i came home and drank a couple of big cups of water.

  • Well I felt bad I couldn't run today. Snow kind of got in the way. I don't have anywhere to run inside. And I'm on my 3rd beer. headslap But I did do some push ups, and sit ups. I probably could have done more. I'm starting slowly, I got to kick it up a notch soon. I am eating better than what I have been, that isn't saying much though. And still no pop either.

    i didn't run today, was busy as I went into work early to get out early and hit the Titan game here in CR (plus my legs were sore from yesterday).

    plan on getting out there and running tomorrow.
