I hear ya, my roommate convinced me to bring a whale home because he supposedly "didn't trust my opinion" that she was a whale, so that's the only girl that I have been hanging out with tonight. Kind of a sausage fest. :/

Underneath someone's post there is an up arrow and a down arrow. If you click on one it will more or less "rate" that post. As your posts are upvoted by other posters, you get a "rating". Basically if you have all upvotes you have a rating of 100. They really are a neat tool that 247 has.

About the emoticons, there should be a button you click while you're forming your post which opens all of the emoticon options. Also, if you already know what emoticon you want, you can just type the keyword for that emoticon in brackets. For example, if I want the laughing emoticon, I just type "lol" in brackets. So [ lol ] or without the spaces .
