The only way it makes sense, at least to me, is if the assistant said something to Crean or someone else associated with IU about the Hoosiers being lucky to win, etc. Otherwise, why would Crean pick that particular moment to bring it up to that assistant, especially with TV cameras all around?

I personally think Crean is a very good coach, not a perfect one, but a damn good one. That said, I don't agree with some of the things he does, and because of both his success and decisions, I have grown to dislike him a lot. I just find what he did there really weird. There must be something else behind Crean's anger in that situation because Crean was not a part of the IU program when Meyer was.

Good call - didn't realize that. If the Michigan assistant said or did something to set Crean off, I think the best move for Crean would have been to say something like, "I have to stick up for our program and our kids when someone attacks/insults them." If he says that, no one really has a problem with what he did, because they all assume the Michigan assistant had it coming, or at least that that's how Crean perceived it. But with the way Crean actually handled it, we're left wondering whether he had a legitimate reason to be upset in the first place, which makes him look much worse.

I agree. As many press conferences and public appearances these high profile coaches have, you'd think they would know how to handle something like that better, which makes it even more bizarre. I'm in no way dialed in to coaches, but it seems like Meyer is considered a class act around, so who the hell knows what it was about. Still, just a bad approach to whatever it was about by Crean.

I was hoping someone would bring that up. That part was creepy!
