NBA Playoffs

  • Playoffs start this weekend boyz. I've been looking forward to it. I'm interested to see how the Lakers do, if they get past the first round, and get MWP back, things could get interesting. Trying not to get my hopes up though. Bulls fans, how are you feeling about your team going into the playoffs?

  • i'm a closet lakers fan...i root for ATL but i have no faith in that team. i 'd love to see a lakers thunder final in the west. as good as durant and westbrook are, i don't think they have an answer for bynum down low if he is on his game. i hope the spurs get swept and discontinue their franshise. i hate the spurs with a passion. if i had to predict i'd say the thunder come out of the west but i hope the lakers are there.

in the east i can't really see anyone beating the heat. i've never been high on the bulls or derrick rose. rose is a great player and fun to watch but i don't see him leading that team to any championships anytime soon.

heat and thunder would be an amazing finals but so would heat and lakers. i'll shoot myself if the spurs make the finals.

I absolutely agree with everything you said about the Spurs. The only team I hate more than the Spurs is the Heat.

No clue why he was even in the game at that point. It was all but over, and he's had several nagging injuries all season. I realize hindsight is always 20/20, but I was saying that to myself before this even happened.

Torn ACL. Bulls still have a chance to get to the Finals. I won't give up all hope just yet.

They'll still be a heck of a defensive team, but I'm not sure they'll be able to score consistently enough on a good defensive team like Boston in the second round, assuming both advance.

  • grumble so many Spurs haters (worse yet Laker fans) hammer

How anyone could hate on another team when their team features the 2 biggest thugs in the league in Artest and Crybaby Bynum is beyond me. shrug

It's quite easy. I've been raised a Lakers fan. 2 players aren't going to make me dislike the team I was raised watching.

Kobe, Shaq, and Phil Jackson are enough to make me hate the Lakers, the other meatheads just make it worse. I have nothing but respect for the Magic era Lakers though (although i still dislike the team itself)

Derek Fisher making that miracle 3 pointer with .4 seconds in game 5 of the playoffs also makes him an honorable mention most hated Laker. That game ripped my heart out, i still think the Spurs should've won the title that year. Can't believe the Lakers played so good against the Spurs, and then went out and laid an egg against the Pistons

One of the funniest things I've ever seen at a live sporting event:

I was in Memphis when the Celtics played there during the 07-08 season. Boston was up big late in the game, and Memphis was awful that year, so the arena was seemingly half Celtic fans at that point in the game. All the Celtic fans ended up congregating in a few of the sections closest to Boston's bench, and they all started doing the Scalabrine chant. When he got the nod to check in, he stands up, dramatically turns around toward the crowd, rips his warm-ups off (as it appears he did in your picture), and flings them to the other end of the bench. Everyone was cracking up.

Oh yeah he has an awesome attitude, seems like he would funny to be around, I think I read the other day that he accidentally put on CJ Watson's shorts because someone mixed them up and he actually came out to the floor with them on. And here is this

  • Laugh at him all you want. But they dude is a great guy to have on the bench. I know you guys aren't saying he isn't. I just thought that needed to be said. You could do a lot worse.

I love the dude, they were talking about him last year on Chicago sports radio and pretty much saying he was like another assistant coach to Thibs

lol Nice! Another hilarious Scal moment was after Boston won the title in '08. While the media was waiting for Pierce, Garnett, etc to come into the room, Scal came in and just started talking. Eventually, some of the media members actually asked him a few questions. Here are two clips of that segment.

Completely agree about his overall value to the team. Thibs was with him in Boston, and clearly recognized that.

  • It sounds like Stoudemire punched a glass object tonight after their loss to the heat. Tyson chandler said he thought he would be out for at least the next game. No Rose on the bulls, no Howard with the magic, now stoudemire may miss some time. The east has been weakened a bit. I'm sure lebron doesn't mind.
