Even though you might not be able to charge the ex bf with anything, you should try threatening him with a lawyer, people will usually fall for it without asking questions and if all else fails, talk to one and see if you can't figure out a way to scare the piss out of him anyway. Does your daughter carry any mace or anything? Might be time to get her some, good luck to your family either way and I hope she's ok.
