Miami Heat

  • So it's pretty well known I'm a huge Lakers fan. I'm not happy that they're in a 2-0 hole, especially letting the game last night get away from them. However, the ONE thing that makes that loss much more bearable is the fact that Miami is down in their series with the Pacers. I think my hatred for Miami has reached an all-time high, and I truly get joy out of watching them lose. If the Lakers lose to the Thunder, which I do think will happen, OKC is just wayyy too young and talented, I will still find some joy in watching Miami lose. I will cheer just as hard for whatever team is playing Miami, as I do for the Lakers. That is all.

Not sure if serious. They lost by 19 tonight.

  • Was surprised that Indiana handled them so easily tonight. Sunday is not necessarily a must-win game for Miami, but is still an extremely important game.

I knew they were playing but watched the season finale of Community instead. And it was damn funny.

Yeah it's pretty darn important for them. Even for the Heat, being in a 3-1 hole would be a veryyy bad thing, especially if Bosh is still out. However, I'll continue to be a Pacers fan for the rest of that series :)

  • I really wouldn't mind a Boston vs Spurs Finals. KG vs Duncan. Anyone but The Heat please.

I have to ask one more time, because I still don't believe it. Would you cheer for Kobe and the Lakers if they played the Heat in the finals?

Oh for sure. Kobe getting #6 wouldn't mean anything in his comparison to Jordan. I hate the Miami Floopers more than Lakers. The Lakers are killing themselves, it's too easy.

  • I don't watch the NBA, but I enjoy hearing that the Heat lost (and was kind of hoping the Bulls won). They've rubbed me the wrong way since they decided to celebrate a championship before a game was played.

With two of the remaining three games at home, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but definitely less than ideal. Speaking of Bosh, what's the latest? Haven't had a chance to check up on that...is he expected back this series, or is he still out "indefinitely?"

Agreed. And I'll also agree about the Kobe and Jordan comparison. I'll never ever ever say Kobe is better than Jordan. I will say that Kobe does do certain things better than Jordan, but he is not as complete/great of a player as Jordan was. However, he may be the closest that we see for quite some time simply because of his competitive drive.

According to this site, he didn't travel at all, and is out for at least the next game.

Bosh has said on a couple occassions that he's out "unless Miami extends the season." I assume that means he's out for sure up through game 7 of this series, and possibly more. Things look pretty bleak for Miami.

Spurs vs. Thunder might as well be the title game if the Heat lose, nobody left in the east can beat them.
Hoping Timmy gets his 5th ring, but as long as the Lakers, Heat or Celtics don't win i'll be happy

Haven't had Bosh's particular injury myself, but it's the playoffs. IMO, if you can walk, you need to give your team at least something.

Long way to go, but if the Celtics are relatively healthy, I think they can take out anyone in the west.

lol Just meant I didn't expect a blowout. They're really starting to click as a team right now. Can't wait for Sunday's game.

Whoa Boston fan alert! All the "experts" are saying whoever wins the West will win it all. I'm surprised a Celtics fan would think otherwise. biggrin

I need to watch The Spurs play, I haven't seen them that much this year. Lots of people are talking them up.

Spoelstra cannot implement the correct offensive scheme for them nor handle their stardom. It's not his fault, there are only a handful of coaches that would have been qualified to handle the sh*t storm that he landed in.

lol The vast majority of NBA experts have no clue. Not saying the Celtics are a lock or even the favorite by any means, as they can be pretty inconsistent and are battling some health issues. But if they get to the Finals relatively healthy, I like their chances against anyone.

I think it's still a little early to write him off as a coach. He got them to the Finals in their first year together, and they could conceivably win three straight to close out this series and then go on to win the title this year. If they don't at least get out of the east this year, then I think the criticism would be more warranted. At the same time, though, their management has done an awful job of adding quality centers and point guards to their roster. I realize they don't have much cap space to work with, but you'd like to think they could have drafted/signed a "steal" at one of those positions, or at least found the right complementary pieces to play alongside the Big 3.
