  • Any of you fellas every watch or play this?
I started watching this Syracuse Duke game on ESPN and i gotta say it's interesting and looks like it would be fun as hell to play.

  • I really wish they would have had this in my area when I was growing up. I don't really watch it, but it looks like an awesome game to play. I've looked around a little for an adult league, but no luck.

I'll watch it for 5-10 minutes here or there, because I find it a little boring to watch. But I think it'd be a blast to play. Unfortunately, very few high schools in the Columbus area even had a team back when I was in school. It's really caught on in recent years, though. I definitely would've played it in the spring if it'd been offered.

This Syracuse Duke game is boring in the slightest. Maybe i found a good game to watch, i dont know. 9-5 Duke in the 3rd, Duke was up 3-1 Syracuse tied it then 5-3. The it was something like 6-5 Duke for a while, now Duke is starting to pull away alittle.

I think I feel a little alienated when watching it, because I've never played it, and don't have a great understanding of the rules or strategies. So I'm not sure if boring is the best way to describe it, but for some reason, I just have a tough time getting into it.

    Okay, that makes sense.

  • I follow a lot of the Ohio high school teams. Watch it whenever its on TV too. There's a new pro team in Delaware, Ohio (just north of Columbus) for this year.

When did high school lacrosse start to catch on in the Cincinnati area? I know in Columbus, the only schools I can think of that had boys lacrosse teams back in my day were St. Charles, the Dublin schools, the Worthington schools and Upper Arlington. There were literally 5-6 teams tops in the entire area.

Does the pro team play at Ohio Wesleyan? I know they recently upgraded their facilities, and they're supposed to be very nice.

You just watch yourself, Wolf. Actually, as a soccer player growing up, I find lacrosse and hockey to be cool sports because they are very similar. I don't really watch any of those 3, though.

Yes they do. Their first ever home game is next Saturday. The stadium is supposed to be pretty nice.

Within the last 5-10 years its gotten huge. I know that now there are over 120 schools that have lacrosse teams now and that number keeps on going up.

Makes sense. Haven't been to Selby since it was renovated, but played there three times in college, and really enjoyed the atmosphere there.

I'd heard it had really grown, but didn't know it'd grown THAT fast. Wow!

120 - is that just in the Cincinnati/Dayton area, or all throughout the state?

All throughout the state. Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, and to a lesser extent Toledo seem to be the hotbeds.
