Here was the end of my week last week

  • So, last thursday after dropping off my boy at preschool i had to run to the grocery store and get some dog food and a couple other things. on my way there, i stopped through the drive through at the BK to get a breakfast sandwhich.

I get my sandwhich, go to the grocery store and get my stuff. i get to the checkout and i notice i didn't have my wallet. thinking i left it on my seat, I went back to the car to get it. I couldn't find it on my seat or under the seat. the following is what transpired over the next half hour.

    -retraced steps at hy vee
    -back to car
    -back into hy vee
-go home, and tear everything out of my car.

as I have no clue where my wallet is, I start calling my cards to get them reported lost. I call my bank, and since i had a card in my wallet with my checking account number they recommend coming in and getting the account switched over.
I head out the door. on my way there i get not 1, but 2 people who pull in front of me and decide to go 5 under the speed limit. By the time i get to the bank and get help, I have only 15 minutes before i have to pick up my boy from preschool. I go pick him up and then head back to the bank. of course, by now there is a lot of people waiting. an hour at the bank and getting my account transferred over I head to work where I now have to pick up a sheet to change my direct deposit.

. the next day I had to go to the DMV, and also to the bank since when the account got migrated over online, it never migrated the transactions from the old account number. So, after about 2 1/2 hours of DMV and bank, i get home and havent sat down for more then 5 minutes when i get a text from my wife that says that bank called and that somebody from hy vee turned in my wallet to them.

my half glass empty attitude was super annoyed that after I did all my running around and getting accounts closed, that is when I get called. knowing my luck, if I didn't go through all that, then the person who would've found my wallet would've been going to town on my cards and bank account.

i was so frenzied and stressed, i ended up taking yesterday off work to just have a long weekend to decompress.

i cannot wait...the first week is going to be fun. about 5-6 days off of work, heading up to see some friends in wisconsin over the weekend, then a day off (which I found out that my dad may be having back surgery that day--- i would say it would be a buzzkill, but hopefully it fixes a lot of the backpain he has been having), but then the following day is the Manson show. I originally had the day after Manson scheduled off, but I may go into work for a few hours to save on paid leave time, and help with the short staffing situation we are going to have that day

  • The mother f-er that stole my wallet spent $99 on gas at like 5am (an hour or two after stealing it, my cell phone and iPod), before my card finally got declined at the pump. He then went inside and spent another like $50-$70 in random crap. I HOPE to get some of the few hundred dollars back that I lost from this. I had to buy a new iPod (surprisingly cheap) for around $100 on EBay, pay I believe a $100 deductible for my shotty insurance to take a week or two sending me my replacement phone, plus I lost the money in my wallet (a nice $50-$60, leather wallet FYI) and everything that I couldn't get replaced.

  • that would suck. I have had movies and cd's stolen at a party, but that is a pretty low POS scumbag thing to do by going to a party and stealing someones stuff.

Movies and CD's would've been annoying, but I couldn't care less unless they stole all of my blu-ray movies because that would cost me decent money. I didn't get my iPod back until Christmas, 2 weeks for my phone (had a loaner though), literally just bought my wallet earlier this month on the 6th or 7th.
