Really?
When you look at the number of people that play those types of video games compared to the number of people that commit those dumb acts. Those numbers aren't even close.
But if you want to blame music, tv, movies, video games, more power to you.
Eminem rapped about this a long time ago and it is still true
And all of this controversy circles me....Where were the parents at? And look where it's at
That last line, where were the parents at?

Well, I am going to disagree with the majority and yes, I am a gamer. I am a big fan of the Call of Duty series. But, at least half of the kids who talk nonstop during the online gaming (until I can get them muted) are clearly prepubescent and they are running around measuring success in kills of other people. It cannot help by desensitize kids of that age and I really don't want to hear about the ratings because too many parents don't care. Given that......
My ex-wife's son was one of the gaming generation and I have never known a child with more violent ideation. He was not violent in life - fights, etc. - but he would constantly talk about blowing things up and killing them. If he had been a little more unbalanced, the issue could have arisen. BTW, he is an adult now and perfectly fine.
I am just saying that it can be a contributing factor, in my humble, nowhere near professional opinion.

FTR, I do not blame videogames per se. Clearly, there are millions (including me) that play them and are not out shooting up schools. I just can't rationally say they have no affect on the culture of violence in this country. And I have NEVER blamed music. I find a huge difference between hearing about something and actually role-playing the part of killing for hours each day. In one scene in Call of Duty MW2, you are undercover with some Russian bad guys who are trying to set up the US for an atrocity and you walk through an airport slaughtering all the people there with a light machine gun as they scream and run for cover.
With that being said, I think I will go play a little Black Ops II.

I don't blame video games for one second, as I said in an earlier post the most notorious killers in the history of the world had no video games, I seriously believe you are either born a killer mentally or your parents abuse you to become one, or maybe are bullied to the point of insanity. Video games may perfect your insanity but they don't cause it. I have never seen some one stomp on turtles, collecting coins going into the sewer systems to rescue a princess in the news in my life.

Help me to understand.........
