Help me to understand.........

  • At least 3 of the 4 mass murders were perpetrated by 20 something, losers, who apparently had lots of
    experience playing video games. Some of these video games are certainly uber-violent and I just kind of
    wonder what other posters think about this topic. Apparently, there has been some medical research that links
    playing these stupid (to me, anyway) video games to acting out, violently.

    I'm not trying to give any excuse to this cowardly, piece of ****, because I'm not........but, I do think the video game thing
    has to be looked at.

    What say you?

    Thanks and God Bless the folks in Newtown, Conn and especially the families who were affected by this
    senseless, unexplicable evil.

    When you look at the number of people that play those types of video games compared to the number of people that commit those dumb acts. Those numbers aren't even close.

    But if you want to blame music, tv, movies, video games, more power to you.

    Eminem rapped about this a long time ago and it is still true

  • It's bs. They tried to blame Columbine on one of my favorite bands KFMDM. Video games are fine. They are rated like movies and parents can control what their kids play. And these aren't kids. Take Halo for example. You are basically killing aliens. That isn't real at all. You know that playing it. Same with any other video game. Call of Duty or whatever. It's a lame excuse.

    The problem: Mother thought it was a good idea to teach him how to use an assault rife. Stupid idea number 1. Followed by she didnt lock up her guns or store them properly considering she had a known unstable person in the house. Stupid idea number 2

    But if you wanna blame gun laws, Manson, Halo 4, or lack of religion in the classroom like the rest of the Facebook fools go ahead.

  • Not sure this really goes here. But my kid came home from preschool with a green ribbon. Apparently one of the parents thought it was a good idea that this was addressed. He tried to explain it was for some kids that got shot by someone in school. Freaking preschool. They can't understand something like that. I know the kids there were almost as young but they shouldn't have to understand something like that either but they are forced to. Why even bring it up to preschoolers? What good can come from that?

    Just saying. While I do see how people could make a connection, I just dont buy it, it is a matter of knowing the difference of right and wrong. While some killers may have played video games, they were effed in the head long before. Hell most of the population plays video games and whle I would like to go Grand Theft Auto on peoples ass I know you cant.

    Pretty much agree with you, here Morrison.
    If some kid brought it up, the teacher would have to address, but why even go there?

    Holy crap. I got teary on Friday holding my 4 year old daughter and she asked why I was sad, and I left it at saying some kids far away got hurt. My husband and I change the channel anytime a related news bit comes up. Young kids cannot grasp this and to make them afraid to go to school is a terrible thing. I would say something to the preschool people.
