Got contacts yesterday...

  • For the first time. It's like seeing the world in HD... But what a pain to put in and take out.

  • It gets easier. I have some that I can leave in for a month, so it's not bad. But yeah, at first it just sucks to put them in.

  • I am supposed to wear glasses but don't most of the time because I can't stand them. I tried contacts a long time ago and they irritated my eyes so bad I couldn't keep them in.

  • I'm so blind that I have to wear hard contacts. It can be a royal pain at first, but eventually it gets easy. There comes a point when you don't really think about it anymore, and its natural.

  • I've had them since I was 6 months old and I'm 18 now. I've had so many eye conditions its hard to keep track. Its not bad, you get used to it. Most of the time I don't remember putting them in or taking them out. I am with UI2015, I have +18's but not hard lenses.

I remember when I first got contacts - it was the day before I left for three-a-days freshman year in college. Not only was I running ragged with three practices a day, but it took me forever to put my contacts in at first. All mt potential nap time was taken up by my stupid contacts! lol Like the others said, though, it becomes much easier very quickly.

  • I just got contacts a few months ago. I love being able to buy normal sunglasses. I still am not good at putting them in and taking them out.

It's interesting, because I have friends that can routinely put them in without the use of a mirror and without holding their eye open. If I really had to, I could probably eventually put them in without a mirror, but would still have to hold my eye open. So I'm definitely not the greatest with them.

Haha, my eye doctor wanted me to use hard contacts because my eyes aren't "ideal" for soft contacts, but I made him give me some soft contacts. Don't really remember what the difference is between them and I've never actually tried hard contacts, just remember I didn't want them.

At some point in the next few years I'm planning on getting Lasic surgery.

I have been wearing contacts since I think 6th or 7th grade, I don't think I've used a mirror since my Sophomore or Junior year in high school. I do have to hold my eyes open though.

And to your first post, that reminds me of when I first got contacts. I think it took me literally about an hour before I actually got both of them in.

I want to do this too, but it scares the bejeezus out of me. I know it shouldn't, but it does.

The main thing I don't like about it is that they keep you awake throughout the process and my eyes are sensitive to light, so to be awake and have a highly focused burning light shining at my eye isn't appealing. The not having to wear contacts again is.

My eyes got extremely light senstive when I started wearing contacts. I wear sunglasses even if it's really cloudy out. Never had that problem before.

I can't really remember if I was the same before I got contacts, I wear sunglasses a lot as well but I usually don't have to when it's cloudy.
