Genral Petraeus scandal

  • keeping this not political and keep political motives out of this thread

Its been pretty confusing. So he cheats on his wife. The girl he with cheats gets jealous of his cute secretary and threatens her. Secretary gets scared and lets the FBI know about this (probably should just call the cops on an issue of threats). FBI investigates and blows the story up for the media.

1.) Am I missing something, more I read the more confused I get?
2.) Whats this blackmail stuff about?
3.) Wouldja hit his love affair lover or his secretary. Lover is white, secretary is latina

New twists in Petraeus case: Another general accused of ‘inappropriate’ emails, ‘shirtless’ FBI agent taken off probe | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

From the blog The Lookout: It seemed the story behind Gen. David Petraeus' resignation as director of the CIA couldn't get stranger. New reports, however, now indicate that Marine Gen. John Allen, another well-respected, high-ranking general, might be involved in the growing scandal. On the surface, the case so far involves the FBI; a slew of allegedly inappropriate emails (between [...]

  • This is such a sad story in so many ways. One of my good friends is a retired Army Major who was called up out of his 1st retirement to go to work with Petraeus in the Green Zone in Bagdad. Lonnie hadn't had much contact with the general prior to being called up. He came back from Iraq talking about Petreaus as one of the greatest men he had ever met. He felt the Gen would have made a fine Presidential Candidate, probably in 2016. Quite simply Lonnie viewed him as the most intelligent man he had met in his entire career (he joined 1976) as a US Army officer. I know he is very sad about the downfall of someone he felt was a great man.

  • I haven't followed this story at all, and I know nothing other than he cheated on his wife and was stepping down or something like that.

Throwing out the "hypothetically speaking, of course" for ECU since I'm married, would on both accounts.

To go along with Benghazi-gate, saying it's 'weird' in really incredible understatement. He was the Director of the CIA! Benghazi-gate is no where near being 'outed'; Well, unless another YouTube turns-up to blame the killings of U.S. Ambassadors upon.

    sheeeesh..........

Broadwell had never written any book, previously. And indeed, it is a very tragic tale for a very fine man, otherwise and a man with a sense of integrity and honor.

    Exactly.

This whole situation is like a movie but better. They hack the one chicks email account and link it to The General. These emails back and forth are somehow pointing to an affair. The director of the cia is dumb enough to email this stuff? Common man. Thats way worse than your average joe getting caught via text messages.

    Begs the question. Whichwouldja?

  • I've not heard anything about this but the secretary would be my first choice. As for him being married, his wife knew and went with it. I'm she has had an affair or two its just too bad it went public.

  • Chris Rock tweeted yesterday that if the head of the CIA can't keep an affair secret, then nobody can. It's just not possible. Sorry fellas.

IDK who that is so not a celeb in my book. You just cant pass on disease free celebs. Makes a good story and might just make a couple bucks. Plus you might get some overflow for just being in the circle. Oprah? Yes please.
