    but, I kind of agree to a point. When i was dating my now wife, i told her I had a few female friends who I hung out with often and I continued to hang out with them (and she knew when I would go out to get a couple beers and hang out and there were usually other people there as well)

    However, if you are dating somebody, especially if both parties are under the assumption that it is exclusive, you probably shouldn't have friends of the opposite sex sitting on your lap....especially if the other person has no clue.

    I guess I can't think its that big of a deal. If someone that was just my new bf tried to make it an issue I would know their is no way we would ever be compatible and it would be over. I mean the picture is on Facebook its not like she is trying to be sneaky.

  • Do what you feel is right. I don't see it as that big of a deal (it would piss me off some) but like Misty said it is on facebook not like she was trying to hide it. If it don't clear up soon drop her before you get to deep into it. If not who knows maybe it could be a good thing. Just my opinion I am a fat old married man now I forgot what it was like to date.

    This is what I was thinking. It sounds like you "laying into" wasn't too smart. Just talk to her straight up, don't be all pissy and mad about it. Talk to her openly first and go from there.

  • Well I agree w/Misty about the friend pic thing.

    As I stated earlier, overbearing parents is a red flag for the guy; jealous boyfriend freakout early in a relationship is a red flag for the girl.

    (Not necessarily saying you're in the wrong, Wise. I just happened to learn about both of those red flags the hard way.)

    Wiser, how long have you been seeing this girl? I must have missed it or the reference to it being a new girlfriend.
    We dont even know if she put the pics on facebook or the dude she was sitting on did and tagged her. Maybe she was trying to be sneaky and the guy outted her on facebook.

    Should it be a big deal if she is hanging with male friends? No. It seems fishy if she cancelled plans to go away for the weekend and then go hang out with this guy.
    There still is too many details left out. Were there other friends there, a mix of boys and girls, or was it just them two?
    If you are in a "exclusive" relationship, regardless of the length, it would just seem like a courtesy to say "hey, just so you know so and so is in town, and i will be meeting him out and catch up on things with him"

    It's not about asking for permission, but more out of respect for the person you are involved with (since obviously things do get interpreted certain ways, especially when posted to facebook) whether it is 3 weeks or 3 years that you have been involved with that person. Just my opinion, though.
