Ever come close to dying?

  • I don't think I really have. There was an incident with a fire and gasoline can on fire right by me. I think that's about it though, nothing too exciting.

  • A few times. At birth I was given a very low chance of living. I almost got obliterated by a semi one time while driving (that's what I get for following a dumb woman driving). Almost died in my own sleep once.

  • One time when my dad's electric razor was plugged in I dropped it into the sink full of water, stuck my hand in the water to grab and obviously was shocked. Being a little kid I didn't know what was happening, so I tried to grab it again, then again until I finally got it out of there. It didn't feel good, but I don't think their were any effects. My dad was pretty upset about ruining his razor, understandably so.

    Another time at my uncle and aunt's who lived on a farm, I grabbed the electric fence. Also fairly young this time, I didn't realize it was on, I grabbed both hands around it, and next thing I knew I was down on my knees. I don't remember dropping to them though, but the last thing I do remember was it feeling like a ton of bricks were dropped on my shoulders.

    Then one time when I was young I stuck a paperclip in an electric outlet in our house. Luckily nothing happened to me, but there was a huge boom, and most of the electricity in the house was suddenly out. I of course lied to my mom, and said I was off doing something and just heard a boom.

    I'm sure there other things that I have done or have had happen to me, but these three make me think I was supposed to die by electrocution or something.

  • My brother cut my main artery when I was young Don't think I was ever in danger of dying though. i thought I was going to die for a bit yesterday during my allergic reaction i could hardly breathe it was a little scary but short lived. Thats all i remember.

  • A few times when I was little. I was a premie so the first month was back and forth it was 1981 so not as advanced in premie care. I had a week immune system and spent a lot of my first five years in the hospital. I had some viral thing that almost did me in. Then after I got my toncils out I pretty much just forgot how to breathe so what should have been a no big deal surgery ended up with being I the hospital for 5 weeks. I had to go to summer school because of that. But once I got my toncils out I really haven't been sick.

    My ex girlfriend's sister got wrapped around the cord in the womb and lost a lot of oxygen. They thought she was going to be brain dead and she turned out to be the smartest person I've ever met. I think she scored perfect on her ACT.

    I haven't really been close to death. Been in some bad car accidents, but that's about it. I do get some chest pains from time to time, which is scary.

  • apparently my mom said I came close as a baby when I was in the hospital for RSV and pnuemonia. Of course that freaked me out when my newborn, a few months after his born was in the hospital with RSV and pnuemonia.

    When I was a kid (2nd, 3rd grade) and i was out fishing with my dad and some of his friends, I fell into the river. I got pulled out real quick, but at that age, you think you were at deaths door.

    Actually, the same thing happened to me.. weird. Dumb doctors couldn't get me out and actually ended up getting me stuck. I'm probably suffering from brain damage though.

    I can't swim. Many have tried to show me but I sink. It's never going to happen. I just panic and almost die every time.
