Deal or No Deal

  • Easily one of my favorite shows. Not sure why it didn't last longer than it did.

One thing that always irritated me/cracked me up was the comments from the relatives. When it comes down to it, that game depends a lot on luck with a little common sense thrown in as well. But the relatives would always say, "you've always succeeded at everything you've done, so there's no doubt in my mind that you'll win the million," or "you saved 23 orphans from a burning building. If you can do that, you can win this game."

Clearly awful logic here, as the game comes down to luck, not heart, courage or persistence. So the contestant would always say no deal, and then open up a huge case right away. Never failed.

Was definitely a Leila fan though (case 13).

  • These were the only scratch cards I would every buy. Never won more than 20 bucks though.

  • I love that game at chuck e cheese. It's not for a million dollars but for 50 tickets. I don't think game shows can last long in prime time. They have a good couple years and that's about it.

lol Good point! That reminds me of another common piece of advice family members give on that show: "you came here with nothing, so it's not a big deal if you leave with nothing." This usually happens when the offer is $100,000+, and the contestant is trying to decide whether or not to keep going.

lol yea. I don't know about those people but $100,000 dollars would be life changing money for me!

lol Absolutely! Just always amazed me how much horrible advice people would give the contestants.
