My 7 year old niece was out on the lake today with my dad, her dad (my BIL), her mom (my sister), and her brothers and sister. It's a quiet little lake, so she's allowed to get towed on a kneeboard behind the boat real slow along the shore.
Apparently the tow rope got caught in the propeller and started pulling her toward it and her arms got wrapped in the rope. My dad couldn't get it into neutral or shut it off. My BIL jumped off the back of the boat, got his shorts caught in the motor, his leg cut up by the prop and was able to push my niece out of the way.
Everyone's ok, but shook up a little.

That is a pretty unlucky chain of events. Figure with a 50' rope it would take alot of revolutions of a prop to significantly pull the person in. Then to not be able to put it in neutral or turn the key off or hit the kill switch. Then her hands get caught in the rope. Then he jumps in and gets cut by the moving prop but not seriously injured.
One of those deals where if it wasnt your family telling ya the story...
