Saw a commercial for a Samsung laptop for $250. Guessing it's just really basic nothing fancy? Know anything about it?
Still trying to decide on a Christmas present for your daughter? Sounds like your wife is winning.
Haha you remember that thread huh? Well she wants an itouch as well. I think she actually wants that more than a laptop. Unless she just gave up on a laptop and went to a itouch. I just didn't want to spend that much on a laptop. And knew the cheaper ones are usually junk. I think she would use both. IDK.
Get her the new mini ipad. That's what I'm considering for my girl now.
What does she want it for? Might want to look into a Google Chromebook if it's just for web based stuff and having a keyboard.
She already has a nook. So an itouch would make more sense. She has too much as it is. She could use a coal in your stocking year, to tell the truth.
What type of laptop is it? There's a chance that it has pretty good hardware but is preloaded with Windows 7. If that's the case, they may just be trying to move it off the shelves at this point. The only other explanation is that it is probably pretty basic.
Pretty much to play those stupid java games in her room. I mean she could use it for school and stuff too. But we have a computer and she can do all that there. That's kind of why I've been against getting one.
Don't get the iPad as it does t support java (right?).
Other than that, them damn google machines are all about processor type/spreed and the memories.
Yeah, that's the whole point of them. They don't have much internal storage, but allow you more than enough free space on their cloud to store anything you want and retrieve it about as fast as a hard drive.
And they are lightning fast. They'll boot up in 3 seconds and fly. I don't have one, but I've played around a little on them and I was impressed.
I'll look at it tomorrow Maury, and tell you what's up.
Go Blue and Go Titans!
She doesn't need anything that expensive. I drink Miller High Life and Mickey's for a reason bro.
My kids have nooks too and they aren't easy to put movies or music on so they can watch them when not around internet. That's why I would like to get them ipads well not the five year old just the 11 year old for now. I like the mini because its small enough that it would be usable as a reader and easier to throw in her backpack. Plus the nook tablet she has doesn't have a camera on it.
Are you talking about the new Chromebook by Samsung?
Probably. It was 250.
Google laid out the next step of its Chromebook effort on Thursday by introducing a thin, light, Samsung-built laptop attached to a killer number — $250.
Ok, what this laptop is, is basically a tablet with a keyboard.
It was designed to do just the simple things, like surfing the web, video chatting with friends, watching movies, listening to music, and just things like that. Doesn't have the processing power to do what more than that, especially considering the CPU that it uses are the same one that are in smart phones and tablets.
Take my recommendation?
You said she wants an iTouch (not a bad choice) but want a laptop as well? I would recommend a higher price tablet with a bigger screen then. Not an iPad or iPad mini or anything, but something like the new $200 Nexus 7 or any of the Galaxy Tabs.
Hope this helps at all.
Blue has homosexual tendencies. Not sure if that's a factor, but just an FYI.
