I bought a PS3 mostly for the Blu Ray player but also to play my cousin online in Madden. Anyway, I have an original Xbox 360. Its only worth probably $40-$50 since its the original one without a HDMI out. Should I sell it or just keep it for poo and giggles? What say you internet friends?
I have the same sort of issue. I just got the xbox slim with kinect and have my old xbox sittting in the corner. Don't want to sell it for 50 bucks. I could probably get that out of it if I tried to sell it online. Who knows.
I'm not even sure it's worth that with Xbox 720 due out next year in time for the new Call of Duty MW4. I have a PS3 - bought that because of the Blu-ray player when Xbox was pushing the HD disks. I am definitely thinking about picking up the new generation next year, though.
Life is hard. It's really hard if you're stupid.
do we know for a fact a 720 will be coming out?? i like my 360 and play it a good bit, with it be compatible with the new one? blehhh i wish i was more into this stuff to know. with that said i still have my old ps2 laying around (broke to hell and taken apart) and with no intent to ever play it again, but i don't think i could ever sell it. so many memories on that bad boy haha
No facts yet, but the big rumor out there now is that it'll be ready to go by the holiday season. I just bought a slim though to go with my PS3, mainly because I wanted to play Halo, but picked up the first Black Ops and really, really like it. I'm not getting BOPS2 though, mainly because it's 60(!) dollars, and I can't really justify spending that much on a video game.
And I would think that the new Xbox would not be compatable with 360 games, although I've been wrong before.
The rumors are that the next gen Xbox comes out between November and late holiday season next year. The rumor for the next PS(4) is that Sony does not want to be a year behind the Xbox again. They're probably both pushing for right before the Holidays next year. I won't be joining them right away, sadly.
There's also some rumors floating around that the next gen Xbox is trying to make it so that used games don't play on another system. IDK how that would work, but it sounds lame to me. They'd probably end up taking that feature off once they see numbers drop.

To answer this question though, old Xbox's aren't worth much today. For about $50 you can get a new game or a few used games. If theres anything out for the PS3 now that looks good, then yeah sell it. If you still use it for games then keep it. If its just sitting there though, I'd sell it.
Its just sitting there not being used. I think I had it on twice or maybe three times in 2012...
I'd sell it then. Put $50 in your pocket that you didn't have before.
Edited to say: To sell it before the next gen is announced. So probably sooner than later.

If the new Xbox isn't out by next Christmas, it will be out in the following Spring.
They'll probably push it out for Christmas. Just like they did with the 360. Even if it has problems (like RROD) they'll still make a ton because they can price it high and people will buy it for Christmas. I'm not flaming Microsoft, just saying they did it once, why not do it again? I mean, they did fix the RROD problem anyways.
I guess I'm saying I'd be surprised if it isn't out by Christmas.
Yeah but they can't take anymore heat like they did last time. I would like to think they won't rush it out. But yeah the smart money grab would be to have it out for Christmas.
They won't stop making 360 games though. They can't. They just got this Kinect thing really going last christmas. Hell, I just bought one. I will be pissed if they do. They need to make the games compatible for both systems.
