I was there, that wind was brutal. Hand warmers and toe warmers were amazing. It was pretty ridiculous that it was cold enough out to make my beer taste warm after first cracking it open.
I wasn't, but I didn't want you to feel lonely since no one is talking to you. So I posted. I love you, CB
How was turkey day?
I was there. Felt cold the rest of the day.
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
Ate too much, spent time with some friends, so, good. But got up at 4:15 to leave Des Moines on Friday to get to the game. Then drank a lot, was cold, Iowa lost, and didn't go to bed until after 3 in the morning. So not so much fun on Friday. The one thing I will say at least, is that the stadium didn't have all that red like everyone said it was going to be. I would say there was no more than normal games. The away section had a lot, then some sprinkled throughout the stadium. Student section was a joke
Yeah, wasn't even the coldest game I have ever been to, but it sure felt like it yesterday.
I was there. We moved down with our friends in row 30 in the NW corner. That was so much warmer to have the wind off of us. And then the sun went away. Then it was cold again.
It took us almost an hour and a half to set up 2 out of our normal 4 tents because of the wind. We used every stake we have just to hold those 2 down. Because of it I didn't even crack a beer until 7am.
I take offense to the last part.
I lulzed and upvoted your last sentence.
I am glad you made it, but man it was disappointing to see the student section that empty, I know the team is bad and to make matters worse it was the day after Thanksgiving
Wolf I figured you were probably there, but it was much too cold to be wandering over to find you again, figured I would just stay put in our spot
No problem. It was kind of tame with the reduced space. Still managed to get a few games of pong in, though.
it was cold but not that cold. only my feet were ever cold during the game. not in my top 5 coldest games i've been to.
That empty? I'm fully aware that it wasn't packed, and I would argue a lot of that had to do with the bullshit conditions, but it wasn't that bad.
You must not have been standing right in the wind during tailgating
You must have missed the whole area that was empty up by the scoreboard and over
I was in row 19 of the South endzone student section. So that's possible I guess.
I worked from 4:30am until 1pm. I did not tailgate but I had to drive through all you aholes who don't know how to use a sidewalk. Then I watched the game from inside my new office, then watched it from a bar. It was 26 degrees out with a 30mph wind. That is a windchill of 4 degrees.
btw here's the view from my office.
As for the students, I wouldn't have come back 4 days early from thanksgiving to watch that team. 4-8 and the attendance showed.
Do they restrict that view during practice or the games somehow, Millah? Or do people line up to watch from the garage?
Agree with iHawkatKinnick, once again.
Been to many games at Kinnick that were colder.
And actually, inside the stadium was not nearly as cold as standing outside the stadium trying to
drink a beer in gale force winds at 10 am. The Bowl stadium was somewhat protected, yesterday.
So, anyway, as an official Off Topic poster here on VOTH, yes, I was at the game and stayed until
almost the bitter end.
Thought our Punter did a good job yesterday........as did our Defense. I'm hopeful for our front 7 next year.

Thats not from the top of a garage. That's from the inside of my office conference room. And no they don't restrict it. How would they? Tell us to put blinds on our windows?
Haha. No, I worded that poorly. Do they keep people from walking up the garage to watch the games?
No, people can go up there. The only thing is HR3 (the one that overlooks the stadium) is major donors only. So most of those guys up there payed A LOT of money to park in that ramp, so they stand up there. So they know who is and who isn't a big donor and they are rather unwelcoming to those who try to stand up there that they don't know.
