Visited my son at Great River Medical Center in Burlington where he is recovering after some surgery. He is doing well. I spent about 2 hrs with him and we busted a gut laughing almost the entire time. That' good S***!
It snowed and someone couldn't make it into work so I stayed all day and now I don't have to go in on Wednesday.
That's cool frog, I hope everything is well. We soon forget that others have major issues going on. Prayers and thoughts to you, your family, and son.
I got to skype with my 14 mo old Grand daughter tonight. We get to visit her in 10 days, Love her FOREVER!
To Froggy's son!
Thanks for the note. I upvoted you for that one. Jeff should be getting out of the HS either tomorrow or the next day. Thanks again for the kind words ihawks 76.
I dont have to pay in to the state of Iowa for taxes
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Late to the party, but the teenagers went back to their mother's for the week.
For me it's getting one day closer to Thursday, when I leave to go skiing in Wyoming
Every day above ground is a good day!
1. I woke up.
2. Pizza for lunch.
3. Listening to the new Kyle Park album that came out today.
Visiting the folks and got some Milwaukee Wiener House today. One of the few things I miss about Sioux City
i got nagged by the wife today
I think that should be in the what happens to you everyday thread.
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
I woke up this morning with little lower back pain, right knee pain and little neck pain. I almost felt human until asbout 10:30 am.
A long story from yesterday, but a good one - I had the absolutely best experience with an eBay seller possible. It kind of restored my faith that there is some integrity left in this country.
I have long coveted a Gibson Explorer, but it wasn't worth the money, given my talent level. Well, one came up on eBay that had an issue with the truss rod so I was able to score it for about $500 (it would be worth $1200-1500 in good shape). The guy I bought it from had over 11,000 ratings and a 100% perfect score. When I received it yesterday, it had a crack in the neck and I freaked out. I wrote him an email and he immediately responded with multiple emails and a phone call offering to refund the full amount plus shipping both ways, or a partial refund if I wanted to keep it any way. I went to the guitar shop and they gave me a price of $280 for the repairs and assured me that it would be as good as new (they are an awesome customs shop so I trust them completely). I told the seller that I would be willing to settle for 1/2 of the repair price since I was expecting to pay $100 or so for the truss rod issue and a set up. He said he could do better than that and refunded $190 to me. I am still blown away by that.
Life is hard. It's really hard if you're stupid.
That is pretty cool, you don't see that often anymore
That's awesome. Sometimes we need to hear these stories of good people instead of all the bad stuff that's talked about on the news. Thanks for sharing
Had lunch in Burlington with a friend of about 35 years. Jane and I crack one another up and we had scads of old folks (must have been Alzheimer's Day at Gator's restaurant today) looking at us as we cussed like sailors and laughed til the point of near pukedom. Great time.
Also, Jeff is recovering and should be out of the HS on Sat.
Geez and I thought some people here were crazy about their star rating. That's pretty cool. He must have really wanted to keep that 100%
