I'll start with two that I hate.
#1. That injury (pick one, broken leg, concussion, etc.) is a long way from your heart.
#2 They give a 110 percent. Wake me up when you pass algebra.
Before there was space or time there was rock and roll.

A searchable collection of sports cliches, jargon, and lingo
Posting the list conveniently dodges the question. But it was informative and pretty funny.
I get tired of pretty much every one of them under the football tab.
I hate when commentators/announcers say "there has to be indisputable video evidence." We know there has to be indisputable evidence! You say it 100 times per game!!! This isn't the first football game we've seen, we know what the replay has to show. Holy god.
Not necessarily a cliche, more just a commonly held belief.
I've never understood the concept of a team becoming even faster when they play on turf. Turf makes everyone faster, so that will benefit all players. Why would one team become even more dangerous?
Being Iowa fans I'm sure we have heard this one 1000 times before but, we just have to go out there and execute better.
This, thanks for posting Todd!
Glad to hear I'm not alone on that. Still waiting for a legit explanation of that theory.
Any cliche comparing any sport with combat in any way. Here's an idea: let somebody run a few rounds at you and see how easy playing a game seems.
Life is hard. It's really hard if you're stupid.
Couldn't agree more, those ones are just dumb
