Hearing a lot of Kobe for MVP talk after the game last night McLovin. I would love to see him win it over LeBron.
Kobe's had a phenomenal career, but with all the talent the Lakers have on this year's roster, I don't think he deserves to win MVP this season. He's obviously playing at a really high level right now, but there's no way a roster that talented should be fighting for the 8th seed. I know they had a lot of injury issues, but they also lost a lot of games they shouldn't have when most of the team was healthy.
Yeah they really haven't played well and probably shouldn't get it. But how bad would The Lakers be without him? I could be wrong but they wouldn't be anywhere near the playoffs without him.
Injuries have been a big issue, but they also have a coach that wanted to run an offense that didn't work with the players they had. Not to mention they never had a training camp with that coach either.

I heard Charles Barkley talking yesterday on Dan Patrick. He said something pretty interesting, he said something like I told you when they got Steve Nash they would be injured. Nash is too old trying to play with CP3 and all the other great young point guards in the league. Basically he was blaming The Lakers age on their injuries. He starts talking about The Lakers at the 9:00 minute mark if you are interested McLovin.
Very true - they'd be nowhere near as good without him, and he's obviously extremely valuable to their team. I just think that if someone for a borderline playoff qualifier is going to win MVP, he literally has to be the only quality player on the team and carry them on his back. I think LA has too much talent to be considered in that category this year.
That's another major issue - the coach. I honestly think he deserves as much criticism as can be given to him at this point for the job he's done this season. No way should that roster be fighting for the 8th seed, even with the injuries they've had. He deserves a lot of the blame for that, as does management for hiring him.
Nash's age is obviously a significant reason behind his injuries. But having Howard out and/or playing at much less than 100% for almost the whole season has really hurt them, and he's still a young guy, so age has nothing to do with that. Artest and Gasol have also battled injuries. They're not exactly young, but I consider Gasol to still be in his prime, and Artest isn't that old in NBA terms.
I couldn't agree more. I'd be really interested to see how this team would be sitting right now if Phil had been hired instead. He's always had a way of getting guys to play together. Plus the triangle offense isn't made to scored 120 ppg, like Dantoni said this team should do under his offense when he first got hired.
Did you hear Phil got a huge ovation at the Shaq ceremony? Laker fans want him bad. I wouldn't be too surprised to see him coach there next year.
Yeah I watched that ceremony actually. The "We want Phil" chants came after the ovation. You could tell he didn't know how to react to it.
Yep, that was pretty awkward.
I generally can't stand Phil Jackson, but I'd be surprised if they weren't in a lot better shape record wise at this point if he were there.
I don't even know why I am paining myself watching the bulls all the time knowing Rose won't come back this year. But they really are fun to watch even without Rose. Butler and Robinson have been great this year, a welcome surprise at least to me.
I know you're not a big fan of him. I would have liked to have seen Brian Shaw hired as well. Instead of Mike Brown actually.
Joey Crawford sucks that is all.
Bulls snap another streak super short handed. What was that injuries excuse you were talking about McLovin? It really hurts watching this Bulls team thinking what if Derrick Rose was healthy? If you think The Bulls can't beat The Heat or at least give them a good run if they are healthy you are crazy IMO. They have shown a lot of heart this year, they have improved pieces in Butler and Robinson. Man I really want to see Rose and Robinson the back court together at least in little stretches.
He annoys me so freaking much.
Nate Robinson? You would love him if you were a Bulls fan. He is out preforming his contract far more than most players. He has been huge for The Bulls this year even though he kills us at times too.
If he got traded to the Lakers next year, I still would not like him. The more I think about it, I'd actually HATE it if he ever played for LA, because then I'd have to watch him way more than I do now. Seeing him once or twice a year is enough for this guy.
I really hope The Bulls resign Nate, he could be that sparkplug off the bench they never really to give them offense other than Rose.
You know he had 35 points tonight? He is a funny dude too if you look at his instagram posts. Rip and him have been going back and forth some funny stuff there.
No thank you, I stay away from Twitter and Instagram. And he may have had 35 points tonight, but that doesn't mean I'd want him on the Lakers.
