the american media and the 24 hour news cycle really suck a bag of.....
I saw that earlier today too. I couldn't believe it. If I was that kids parents, I'd be completely outraged.

sometimes we should be able to discuss things like adults. that's this place's biggest downfall. we are treated like kids. i'm not advocating more political discussion but to force everything to be peas and carrots is stupid.
Don't even worry about it brah. Just get drunk tonight, and stay up late and post with me. You're one of the real late night posters I can usually count on.
I agree with Fish. We are here by choice. We all know the rules on political discussion and I for one am glad to come to this politically free oasis. There are plenty of political boards and threads on the internet for those who wish to participate in them. I don't wish to silence anyone's political opinions, but there is a place and a time for those and this is not the place, nor is it the time. We are all hurting from this despicable act. We need to mourn our dead and heal before we can sit down as a nation and hash out what needs to be done.
And another shooting in a public place in Vegas. 2 people dead, 1, and then the gunman.
Metro Police said a man shot a woman next to the registration desk at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas Friday night. He then turned the gun on himself, the police said.
alright man, i'll stick around. i thought about leaving this place for awhile because we can't be treated like adults but i'll stick around and drink with the late night posters. cheers
Cheers is right. What are you drinkin tonight?
cheep beer and whisky. just finished watching a great film in traffic and i debated animal house and project x, went with project x. you?
I'm drinkin on some beer, and Black Velvet. How is Project X? I've heard mixed reviews
good. see mclovin thread.
Didn't post in this thread yet because I was sickened by this but T's and P's out to everyone involved in the horrible, selfish act of violence yesterday. My wife is a teacher and I worry about her everyday. This will only make it worse. Luckily her district in a KC suburb has a cop at the school all the time and have tons of cameras and protocol for people getting into the building. But still, it wouldn't be difficult to get in. Just worries me.
I keep seeing the pictures of these kids everywhere and really breaks my heart to see them.
I never really thought about it before, but have over the weekend, what would I do if this situation were to happen at my school. It is a sad reality, but I think that some training needs to go in for teachers on what they should and could do. We have crisis folders that tells us what to do, but that is different.
Guessing you've seen this, Buck.
Yeah, it's so sad, I have also watched the interview with the lady that piled all her students into the bathroom and kept them in there quietly.
I don't believe I have ever met a teacher that doesn't genuinely care for their students especially after really getting to know them.
wow that was hard watching the President read all of their names just now.
Just read that the girl from the picture waiting to find out about her sister, the one that looked like she was screaming, was the this girl's sister. I kind of thought so the first time I saw that picture of her and the girl that died, they do look a lot alike. Very sad.
Today was the first of the funerals, I couldn't imagine seeing the caskets for those little kids.
Wow, I hadn't seen that. The lady on the phone screaming was one of the first ones they put out and it ripped my heart out.
Yeah all those pictures were terrible to see. I know it is no where near the scale of 9/11, but these pictures will be things that live on years from now, like the ones we see from 9/11.
I'm still reading through a 30 page thread on a different site that started when the news broke and I haven't even gotten to the pictures yet, even though I've seen them all over the news anyway. I should probably just stop, I can only get through about 2 pages at a time.
Yeah I have been trying to stay away from this stuff as much as possible, but it is almost impossible if you get online or turn the TV on
I don't watch The Voice, but someone posted this to FB, at the end it has the Pres reading all the names...if you don't want your eyes to get wet, I wouldn't watch it
The Voice USA sang Hallelujah in tribute to the 20 children and six adults killed while in their elementary school classrooms on Dec 14, 2012.
