It's just something else that can start a fight. It really doesn't bother me either way. I do agree with you about the videos. I don't see the harm there especially if you give a warning for bad language. But this site is a business. It would kind of be like if you went to McDonald's and they had big mac large fries on the wall. I think we all know kids know swear words. But that doesn't mean the business side of this site should promote the use of swear words. If you paying members really feel strongly about using swear words IDK what to say. I would let TW know how you feel which I think you guys have already done.
I'm not going to debate whether or not language should be allowed here as that's been discussed already at length. Bottom line is, foul language is not allowed on this forum and that isn't changing any time soon.
Its spelled Busch, and I don't think neither Tom Busch, former fullback from Iowa, or Anheuser has anything to do with this
good point thanks for clearing that up brah
Hey it's what I am here for
What he said.
Profanity was a big part of my form of expression and as a kid, I screamed the F word right there in my driveway when playing dogeball. My buddies said, it's been nice knowing you nc...sure enough about 2 minutes later the upstairs window opened up and mom said, "NC come in the house". Everyone gave me that cold stare that said..dam u arf fked. I hid in a closet for a few hours - my brother gave me a clock radio and his baseball cards. Heard mom walking around out in the room sayd" where is he?" I guess I'll just have to deal with him tomorrow". After a while I came out and offered myself up. She sat me on the toilet seat and took a bar of soap and slammed it into my mouth and rubbed it around all over the place.
From then on I learned how to selectively use profanity with remarkable agility.
Dad called it intellectual constipation. What's the matter son, don't you have the vocabulary to express yourself without profanity? Funny thing, when I hear other people cussing it sounds ignorant but somehow its ok when I do it.

I sometimes feel that way too.
I cuss like a drunken sailor most of the time. However, I still don't around my mother or my elders, or around young kids. My dad is ok with it, but he always taught me never to cuss around my mother. So it is selective and a habit that can be learned, even in today's society where we are inundated with it.
I haven't been here as much, what's been cracked down on?

Seems like videos with bad language. I don't know if they just didn't see them before or if they didn't care or what. But it looks like they aren't being allowed now.
i could see where the mods wouldn't want the actual board littered by F bombs, but i don't know why words like a*s and s**t couldn't be used in adult ways. i guess i don't understand the whole thing about links containing curse words. is that just videos or does that go for any link?
unless somebody is listening to something at work...and it could be a courtesy thing to keep the volume lowered
My mom swears more and is more disgusting than I but I cant tell you things she says due to restrictions of the board, I promise you would laugh, cringe,be in awe cringe some more then laugh again
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Pretty sure nobody has a problem with ass. You can say that on network TV.
one mans ass could be another mans cuss word.
This is true.
I have no problem with ass
Now we're cookin with peanut oil.
So because you or someone else "conceivably" doesn't like it, it can't even be discussed? That's the height of arrogance and irrationality right there.
It's literally no different than the event from a week or two ago in London where Lawrence Krauss almost walked out of a debate because the Islamic group who organized the event, tried to segregate seating according to Islamic law and values. It doesn't matter if someone is offended (as Muslims were after Krauss forced them to desegregate or he would leave), because it doesn't always make them right.
If anyone is interested, the article is talking about the incident, the video is actually what happened.
Physicist Lawrence M Krauss stands up to the forced segregation of a debate, in which he was told the audience would not be segregated.
- h/t Dana Sondergaard
British people are too afraid to offend a section of the Muslim community who demand that their cultural values are accepted by wider society, according to a former adviser to Barack Obama.
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
You seem to have done a sufficient job in your time thus far getting your point across without using profanity, no reason that can't continue.
I am what I am! I talk like a drunken sailor because I WAS a drunken sailor. When talking to some of my college profs, I could sound like a grammer nazi with the best of them. When I am talking to friends, enemies and everything in between, the sailor comes forward naturally. I try and not use a few of the regressive K sounding words and if one should be appropriate to making a point, or expressing passion, I leave out a couple of letters so the word will not be a direct affront to those out there who have issues with curses and cusses.
Anybody seen the movie "Horrible Bosses"? I saw it tonight and damn neart puked from laughing.
If I'd gotten my point across through the arrogance of such a stupid rule than you wouldn't finish your post of with such an ignorant statement. It's starting to become clear that the arrogance of this rule is not the result of a reasonably thought out decision, but more from a misplaced sense of morality where you think you're doing "someone" a favor and that your strict totalitarian control of this rule without even the slight consideration of a reasonable argument against it is fully driven by an act of individual egoism.
Der it's really a common rule for message boards like this. I know you think it shouldn't be that way but it is. I don't know what to say. But it really isn't that crazy.
