Say you lost your job or your income, which would you keep if it could only be one?
Internet. Mainly because I could stream basically anything I wanted.
I guess I already live in this life. I only have internet.
Can you watch True Blood for free? New episodes, I mean?
I don't know. I don't really watch much tv.
I haven't had cable/dish for almost a year. And I need the internet for work.
The will is not here, the will is at my office next to the hot plate with the frayed wires.
I just got DirecTV after having only internet for about a year and a half. I could do it again.
No Google fiber?
Well it's the same lousy company for me, but I'd give up TV. We have netflix and you can stream many shows off of the networks' websites. ESPN3 often streams the games they have playing, and I could always head to a bar to watch a game if I couldn't get it online.
I'd choose that really fast MediaCom cable internet.........thing works great for us.
And DirectTV has pi**ed me off on a couple of things, so I'd
def be willing to say sayonnara to them.
Well, until football season, I suppose........
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
That is always the kicker isn't it?
I look at TV but seldom watch it. I'd keep the internet for sure.
Gonna give this a gander as my Direct TV went out yesterday and can't be looked at until Wed. I hope there is lots of action (a few murders, some espionage, porn and old Looney Tunes cartoons) on VOTH to keep me entertained until then.
Wednesday!!!??? That is ridiculous. I'd be getting something thrown to me for free for sure. What a joke. DirecTV has pissed me off a ton too.
Yes, direct TV is on my "stomp a mud puddle in their a**hole" list and has been for a while. The problem we are having is being caused by the fact that when they installed the cable from the Dish on a pole in the front yard to the house (approx 50 ft) the ground was frozen and they were unable to bury the cable underground. The Tech said he would return when the frost was out of the ground and bury it. Months went by and we called for someone to come and bury the cable. WEEEELLLLLLLLL.... first the tech had forgotten us and he would be by ASAP. Never happened. Called some more and he told us he needed authorization from his supervisor before he could bury it. He never got it. Finally we called his supervisor and were told they do not bury the cables and we would have to do it ourselves. So now our cable lays in the yard and has to be moved around when we mow so we don't sever the line. Moving it has possibly caused the interruption in our service. Neither me nor my fiance are in the kind of physical condition where we can dig a 50 foot trench in our front yard. Whoever the poor bast*** is who comes to our place on Wed might catch a major ration of S*** from some irate customers.
Can't say as I blame you Ser Frog. However, a suggestion if you will. Get a cane or use one if you have one and hobble around moaning every once in a while, pleading a vague almost terminal and extremely painful condition. Get your Fiancé to put some lemon juice in one eye end sob as if someone had just killed her pet. Thank the dude repeatedly and profusely, and praise him for being a stand up guy. He may give you tips on how to maximize your signal. Offer him a beer. He will turn you down or should, but will take good care off you. If he does a good job, call or write and say so, and request him next time the signal broadcasts from Mars or wherever.
Well, Now you're just being mean Nash. Direct is a known sucky provider, Dish is better. By a long shot, cheaper too.
Dish isn't really that much cheaper. I have had Dish and it sucked. I like Directv better, bet their customer service sucks. I actually can't name one provider that is good. They all suck.
I have AT&T for internet....Terrible. Terrible billing and customer service departments and terrible consistency in their internet speeds.
TV... During football and b-ball season,go to the bar!
Or to THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!
Since I'm in the country now, we had t go with something called Hughesnet. So far no major issues but we've only had it for about 6 mos.
True KC. It is all an expensive suck fest with these guys. At least I can get the local channels on dish that direct can't provide. Do you have to pay for the BTN channel? I do.
Now that I am having such problems with Google Chrome I was beginning to reconsider my position BUT, DIRECT TV was here today, the put in a new Dish, replanted it in a different part of the yard, buried the cable like they should have in the first place and checked out the system, all for free. The service man left about 11:00 am and by 2:00 pm the system shot craps again. Now he is scheduled to be back on Friday to try and figure out the problem, again!
