Growing up in Council Bluffs I have been to my share of Creighton games and they are my second favorite team after the Hawks. I am excited about the move because I would like to see Georgetown, Butler, and Marquette come to Omaha. I do think Creighton will struggle at first and maybe never more than a middle of the pack team in the conference. What do you think average joe in the Big East or kings of the Missouri Valley?
Also from CB and root for them, not sure how I feel about it, but will be fun, as you said to see some of those teams
I've always liked Creighton, but don't really follow them. It will fun for you guys in that part of the state to get some of the Big East teams in town to watch.
I do hope that they keep playing Wichita State as a OOC game. They have a really nice rivalry going with them.
When Creighton loses little McDermott to the NBA this year (ok, I don't know if he's actualy going to go, but my point is still valid even if he leaves next year) and big McDermott has to figure out what to do without the 7 footer in the middle and Gibbs, they'll be at the bottom of the "new" Big East and looking for a coach within 4 years.
I haven't seen McDermott coach a team to that "next level" that everyone always talks about for me to predict huge success in this new conference.
Edit: And I understand the desire to move. WAY more cash, probably more opportunities to be on TV, recruiting etc. For me though it's not worth leaving the Valley.

That's gonna be a stacked conference. Creighton, Villanova, Georgetown, Marquette, Butler, Xavier, Saint Louis, Dayton, St John's, Depaul, Providence and Seton Hall....damn
Speaking of Creighton, just read that Joel Lundardi is predicting them to be a 7 taking on ISU
That'd be a great story. I could see them playing Colorado State for the same reason (Eustachy).
thats not a bad match up for Creighton I think they would beat ISU and coach Mac rips their heart out again
ISU wouldn't have anyone that could stop McDermott. Ejim is the only guy they have who could probably guard him but then Echinique would eat them alive.
