Just picked one up the other day. Initial thoughts:
-A lot less space taken up and less cords now that I packed up my ps3 and moved it into a different room. If I want to watch DVDs I can airplay it through my computer.
-I can use my iPhone as a remote control for it.
-I have netflix so this part is very cool for me. I can stream it instead of using my ps3 or laptop
-I like the airplay. big fan.
-MLB.tv streaming and podcasts apps.
-Only desktop mirroring, no desktop extension.
-I feel like apple is missing out not having individual apps for the big 3 (NBC, ABC, Fox) but scored with Hulu Plus (debating paying the $8 a month for it.)
-Not being able to add more apps without jailbreaking (which I think I may do)
Does anyone else here have an Apple tv? Tips and tricks welcome? Still playing around with it but so far so good. I really like it.
Besides using the Iphone as a remote can't I just do everything else with my ps3 and playon?
My teacher told me that I was a piece of sh*t
Seen her the other day, driving a piece of sh*t
Stream your laptop / iTunes from your computer to your tv / home theatre from anywhere in your house.
Just use playon and windows media.
Is that wireless?
Yes. As long as your ps3 and computer are on the same network it will stream.
I have 2 Roku's. Can anyone tell me the difference? As far as I know, I cannot access my desktop through it. Just apps, such as Netflix, Crackle, Hulu and Pandora.
If AppleTV can work out deals for apps with ESPN, B1G Network, ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX, it will revolutionize television for the better, IMO.
The will is not here, the will is at my office next to the hot plate with the frayed wires.
I think Google TV is probably what's going to revolutionize television.
i can watch netflix, hulu, blurays on my ps3... no need for Apple TV right now
I'm as big as an apple fan as the next guy, but there is nothing too special about Apple TV.
