Yeah, but they usually only have 2 $5 BJ tables going. They have a bunch of empty $25 tables usually though, and a bunch of guys vulturing for a spot on a $5 table. It doesn't make sense.

Well shows what I know I thought they were the same place (owned by the same people?) anyway I had a good time, went with the wife let her play (waste of money) I finished a few spots out of the buy in for the main satellite. Anyway I thought it was Harrahs because we had to sign up for a card to play then I kept getting fliers in the mail form Harrahs to go to Vegas the whole next year.

Harrahs owns Horseshoe, yes. But there is a Harrahs casino there north of Ameristar. I think Harrahs is moving their casino all on land also

i can count the number of times i have been to a casino to gamble on one hand. the last couple times i have been, it's been to see a show.
when my wife was pregnant, i was at the job I was eventually laid off from. it was my first christmas there. for christmas they reserved rooms for employee in their office at Riverside, had food brought in to the owners suite, and they gave each employee and their spouse $100 to gamble. My wife was due around that time, so we did not make it and the following monday, I was handed $100 for me and my wife.
With that said in regards of this CR casino thing (i haven't read any comments, so it may have been discussed), even if it does get approved, will the state issue any more gaming licenses with the saturation of casinos in the area, or is this city just throwing money away to have another special ballot? I think the casino should've been approved the last couple times it went for a vote...but people in this city seems to think a no vote would've saved the gambling addicts from themselves, when all it did was send them (and everybody else who responsibly gambles) to Riverside, Waterloo, Dubuque, Quad Cities, Tama etc

When I lived in DSM I would play blackjack at Prarie Meadows a few times a year... thats about it.
I do do sports betting on Bovada though...
