Off Topic Board

I've read up to about page 100 and would definitely say I like it. Once you get past the first 30 pages or so which are all background and details (albeit presented in an interesting way) and the story really starts to take a direction it gets good.

Starting a GRE test prep book today. Not sure that I'd recommend it to anybody, just thought I'd update everybody.

Since here I haven't had a whole lot of time to read, I read a few chapters in to the second book, will probably try to read one or two more tonight, and hopefully will get some time to get more into it this week.

How are you coming along UI

I'm a good 2/3rds of the way through Brave New World and I really like it. The characters ate really intriguing to me and I really like Huxley's portrayal of the savage reservation.

Dang, well I know what to ask for for my birthday this summer. I would love to watch the shows but I don't want to spoil the book, like you said. It builds up well so far.

Hmm, I went back in this thread to see what you said it is about, and went to the know all site wikipedia to get a brief synopsis, not sure how I would feel about reading that.

It might be something I would give a shot, but as of right now I have so many books currently that I have that I need to read, so it would just fall down on a far list

Believe it or not, I often have as many as five books going at once. I place them strategicly about the house (one in the shitter, one on the kitchen table, one by the couch and one in my bedroom right now) so I have something to read where ever I go. I also carry some magazines and a book in my car, unless I stop at a restaurant and want to read while I am eating. Books have provided me an endless supply of enjoyment over the past 56 years. I really started reading with a purpose when I was about 7-8 years old and have never stopped. I want to be cooked along with my hard bound copy of Shelby Foote's "Civil War: A Narrative". I read a wide variety of things but always come home to true crime stories and history in almost any era. I am getting ready to start reading the Dragon Tatoo story after I am finished reading my bedroom book, "Dakota Dawn".

BNW was one of the best books I ever read in high school, think I might stop by the local bookstore and pick up a copy of it.

I read that book a long time ago. It was well written, interesting and a little disturbing. I sometimes think that some of his visions are coming true.
