A 'What if?' for the VOTH 247.....suggestion

Would the Todd's and Fish ever consider having a religious/politics board?
Those 2 topics are the most, dare I say, important of our lives and yet we don't discuss.
Of course, must be rules to adhere to same civil discourse as say, here on OT board.
Religion is discussion of your eternal life and Politics is discussion of life here in USA.
Just sayin ?????
And one other small matter, can we please get a Football Roster under Football above?

I would be surprised if we ever went to a politics or religious board. I think what we have right now works well. If you really want to talk about those topics, mosy on over to tBB for a bit.

I like the current drinkin' and women board myself.
Politics and religion are much too serious of topics for me.

Count me in on the drinkin' and woman board as well. Although politics and religion are important issues they seem to divide more that unite on an anonymous internet fourm. Those topics are usually better discussed in a face to face format.

It would take a killer effort to mod a board like that. Where to draw the line on things would be tough because of own personal opinions. I just say keep it off of sports message boards. There is plenty Internetz out there for that stuff to be elsewhere.

Also for people here that talk about how bad HROT was, I have been over to tBB a few times and I think that might be worse when it comes to politics

'so moved' to do so.

Oh I imagine not, I know it's a slow time, but I have read through some of the threads over there that are what is in question in this thread, and those people are ridiculous. And don't mind personal attacks apparently

I think on an anonymous board, it's a good idea to avoid religion and politics. Too many people take it too far when they know there will be zero real consequences. I like VotHOT the way it is.

The ONLY way that would even be considered is if it were a separate board altogether. But that brings up the issue of moderation and sometimes disputes from there could trickle into other discussions.

Politics and religion do not belong on a sports forum. As they are hot topics they are also the biggest cause of fights nothing good ever comes of it.

there are some members in this forum who are not anonymous to each other. there has been some facebook freind requests that have been going around (but maybe that loss of anonymity would keep it civilized?
the problem over at hrot is that people knew what side of the fence other people were on, and it was very easy for somebody to take a thread that wasn't political or religious and throw that grenade in the room.

I agree with this. However, I know on some boards people know each other. That would be the only drawback.
