No actually my whole scheme was to have Fu fly off the handle because he loves Nirvana but it failed I know that all about Cobain I was just trying to instigate

We need OiT and Fu to hook up. OiT hated Nirvana. I think Perk does as well. I can't remember though. Let's just get Fu and Perk in a Nirvana battle.

@Wolf- ACDC may have two tunes I like, but the rest of there stuff sucks. I hate most of the 80's rock and ACDC epitomize it. Personally I wouldn't but MJ in the list. I could see why people hate Metallica after selling out plus the Napster mess. Van Halen's 'jump' about sums up that band and their fans.

@JS - kids getting molested is a horrible thing. So I'm sad that MJ did moleste one kid, but after the one kid came out I didn't care how many kids got molested. That's on them. They knew he was a pedo but they slept there anyways. Doesn't change the fact he was the king of pop and Jerry Sandusky raping kids doesn't change the fact he was a great DC and OJ killing his wife doesn't change the fact he was an amazing runningback.

@Maury - I hate ACDC after they made the song 'Balls' and actually seeing losers play that tune on the jukebox in the bar. Plus most ACDC actually think their genre of house of hair were better than the likes of Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, Soundgarden, Rage against the Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Incubus, Korn, Offspring, Staind, Stone Temple Piolts, Sublime....... I just hate the 80's genre and they don't even come close to touching the 90's talent, hell the 70's had better rock than the 80's. It's like good music skipped a whole generation. If someone says they like ACDC it's like telling me you think Bill Maher is funny [puke]

AC/DC's best stuff was in the 70s, but their music in the 80s is no where comparable to the other hair metal of the day. They had far more influence on rock music than most, if not all, of those 90s bands you listed (although most of those are bands I really enjoy).

"Jump" is not a good song and not representative of VH's catalogue or Eddie Van Halen's talent on a guitar.

No one denies 80s Metallica was their best stuff (by far), but that doesn't mean there isn't some good tunes among the 90s albums.

But 80s music is back he just made it rest for a bit and they did make me switch my likes in music for a few years now I just like 80s n grunge but I think sound garden was under rated out of that movement

Soundgarden? They were ok but they were way down the list. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, then maybe Sound Garden. I saw them live and enjoyed it. But their albums weren't that great IMO. They had like a pretty good album and another ok album.

Sorry but if you mean influence by insipiring them to go the opposite direction than yes they influenced every band I listed.

They caused the Nirvana scene thats for sure. People were tried of gimmicky crap and wanted real musicians that did real drugs.

ACDC helped influence Smashing Pumpkins, Blind Melon, Sublime & Stone Temple Piolts........ said no one, ever

  • Happy Turkey Day Brad. I'll probably be going to a wrestling meet within a week or so.... So I'll hit you up. Maybe we'll hit up Misty for a beer. I heard she's a good wingman so I'll remember to wear white sweat pants.

Your reading comprehension sucks. I said AC/DC influenced rock bands and music more than those other bands you listed.

Your mom sucks and actually you said, "AC/DC's best stuff was in the 70s, but their music in the 80s is no where comparable to the other hair metal of the day. ACDC's influence on music today or in the 90's is about as relevant as Fiji's ecomony influence on the global economy.

  • I always liked MJ. Haters gonna hate.

  • I don't get the hate for the 80's music by the 90's kids. shrug My particular genre was late 70's early 80's as that's when I was in my teenage years. But I don't hate the music of the 60's just because I grew up in the 70's and 80's. To the contrary, I love alot of the music of the 60's. I also enjoy some of the 90's grunge. I don't like 99% of rap, although I do enjoy the soundtrack from the movie Office Space. MJ had alot of talent...I just can't seem to get past the fact that he was a pedophile. So I guess with many of you haters of good rock and roll, we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

Yes that was my quote. And I paraphrased it exactly in my next post. Reading is fundamental.

To claim they don't influence today's bands or the bands of the past is foolish.

    ^This

Also Wolf quit say stupid sh** like reading is fundamental & comprehension sucks. I read your foolish post and I laughed. Yes the past effects the future but of most the bands I've ever listen to none have said ACDC influenced their music. None. So maybe you should go "read" up and try to "comprehend" the fact they sucked and no thesis papers will be ever be written on the effects of ACDC had like Elvis, Led, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Nirvana, etc on rock.
