I think this year will be a lot like the year when Stanzi and Christensen were battling it out. I think Ferentz let's them battle it out during the nonconference game and then decided on a starter going into week 1 of the B1G season.

I dont know as that he would transfer, bog reason he also came here was medical school. And to answer the question about Davis having a say, I read Kirk was giving him more control over the offense however I will believe it when I see it. Also we are not changing from a pro style offense, they are just going to incorporate more into it, Anjus said one reason he came here was for the pro style offense I thought I read. Just because they may run more spread doesn't mean it will be anymore exciting plays

Good point, and like I said, a lot more would go into any decision on whether to transfer than just his fball career....but lets not forget that Iowa isn't the only university with a medical school.
Schools like Duke, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest all have great medical schools....and may also have need for a talented QB.

Ok, I've seen enough people speculating that Rudock might transfer if he doesn't start next year, so I'll do my best to infuse a little logic into your thinking.
Rudock will be a *RS*-So next year, when he seems to have a good chance of starting, meaning he has **3** years left to play at **Iowa**. Here's the problem with him transferring, he's already used his RS and he would be an idiot (and he knows this) if he left at the only conceivable time for him, which is at the end of this semester. If he stayed and didn't start this year, it still makes no sense to transfer unless he'll have graduated a full year early, as that is the only way he would even have a chance of playing more than 1 year for another school because he would have to sit out a year with no RS. Other QB's have been successful transferring to other schools for just their last years, but all of those QB's had previous starting experience.
So let's review, there are only 2 options that would make it conceivable for Rudock to transfer:
1. Rudock transfers after this semester, sits out this coming year (when he would have had a chance to start at Iowa), and *possibly* starts for 2 years at a lessor school.
2. Rudock stays, get's little to no experience at QB, **MUST** graduate early so he wouldn't have to sit out a year at another school, and *possibly* starts for 2 years at a lessor school.

Also, I'd be a little surprised if there is a clear frontrunner for the starting job after spring practice, meaning that Rudock probably won't know for sure if he's the man until August, at the earliest, so it really wouldn't make sense to leave at the end of the semester. The one thing that could potentially hasten his departure is if, for whatever reason, both Sokol and Beathard outperform him to a significant degree this spring, and he's a distant third on the depth chart as a result. No inside information there - just presenting a possible, albeit unlikely, scenario.

That's exactly what I was trying to say with the above 2 quotes.
