So who did Soup leave us for?

  • Eastern and Western Michigan both filled their OC positions.

    Missouri?

  • Candidate for the Missouri WR's job.

  • I'm guessing Soup just wanted out. He didnt see eye to eye with Greg Davis's philosophy. No inside info just my gut feeling.

15 National Championships and one Urban Meyer heart attack, Roll Tide. 23 NC's in wrestling and one badass Herky, Go Hawks.

I think Brad was right when he said he should have been offered OC.

    Hindsight is 20/20.

I wouldn't have hired Soup cause I'm really not impressed with him. Save me his Michigan resume & the QB McNutt talks. Just was never crazy about him, he's a good WR coach but if he's so coveted he'd be a OC by now.

After seeing Davis's horizontal passing attack & lack luster recruiting, I'm unhappy with that hire.

Hey Ohio, How reliable is this website? Seems like this has some pretty good information here. Just curious how accurate so I can snoop on that site in the future. Thanks! iowa

Scott Docterman said in his podcast that he thought he was the scapegoat for the lackluster air attacks for the past two seasons and it was either him or GD.

Highly reliable. I was just perusing my bookmarks when I checked it. It'd been a couple of weeks, and was astonished to see he had interviewed at Missouri. The way everything went down, it appeared that he had a job already. But apparently that's not the case. Which sadly, lends to what Lao is saying.

The reason for the lackluster passing attack this past season would be a terrible playbook created by Greg Davis with a horizontal passing scheme and slow, untalented wide receivers who can't get open when a vertical pass play is called.

Campbell did very well in the past when he had talented receivers with speed to work with.

  • Thanks Ohio. I will be adding that to my bookmarks as well.

How come the U of I never realeased anything regarding him leaving?
Not that I doubt he's leaving I'm just wondering why the university hasn't said anything, it goes against anything in the recent past of coaches leaving.

From what I had heard, Iowa was waiting to announce his leaving so whichever program could announce his arrival first. But that, as it is clear to see, is hogwash. Unless he was expecting to get one of the MAC OC positions, and it fell thru at the last minute. But I wouldn't bet the farm on that one.

Its just a peculiar situation that kinda needs some clarification.

(Maybe its one of those situations where Soup was looking at another school and since KF doesn't want commits looking at other schools, he couldn't afford to have one of his coaches shopping himself around...so he pulled his scholarship fishing )
