Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

  • Also, is anyone a member of Flowrestling's technique wave? The NWCA All-Star Classic is tomorrow and I'm actually pretty excited for the Dake/Taylor matchup. I'm also really interested in the heavyweight battle between Missouri's Bradley and Northwestern's McMullan. I'm not a member but was thinking of doing their 7 day free trial and then just canceling it, just wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

  • Just called up to Chattanooga and got a ticket for the day so I will get to see those three duals on the 16th. I don't get many opportunities so see the Hawks wrestle live so I am pretty excited.

Yup I just watched Schwab's press conference from media day yesterday, they expect Colon to be at 125 by Midlands (really sucks that Iowa's not going to be there) and Wolfy could probably drop to 133 by next month. Both weights are these guys' natural weights, and they really expect a lot of things out of Colon here. The only problem is that UNI doesn't really have a guy at 125 until Colon drops down, but that seems to be about their only problem with their lineup this year. No forfeited weights and no scrambling around to fill weights this year for UNI.

  • And for those of you wondering, single-dual tickets go on sale this Monday for all of Iowa's home duals this year.

  • Nice work Brad.

My only expectation of the night was for the Dake/Taylor match to be close and it was. I thought last year at nationals that Taylor would just roll Dake, obviously I don't know a whole lot.

They didn't wrestle the same weight last year. But I did think Taylor would win but really the match plays in Dakes strengths,he is kind of like Howe not flashy but almost impossible to take down and he waits for you to screw up and bam wins 3to2 or 2 to 1 or whatever. He did stick Taylor at the freestyles though
