Out in Husker land unfortunately, I havent been able to watch much but I did see that Jordan Burrough's wrestle and people out here were really were proud. I watch it at the bar and I was pretty surprised the amount of people with interest on is match......Commence reply "cool story bro". Didnt Metcalf use to dominate Jordan?

Well honestly King I am not real familiar with greco and freestyle. But greco involves more throws and freestyle you cant use your hands when you are down, push out of bounds are a point take downs and turns are points it is a whole different ball game that I would like to know more about but it is never on enough for me to catch the real concept of it. Sorry I just have more knowledge on folkstyle wrestling

Most people in the USA are more familiar with "Folkstyle" wrestling as that is what our HS & Colleges use for competition. The rest of the world only competes in Freestyle & Greco, thus they are referred to as international styles here in the US. Greco consists of upper body wrestling only, you cannot attack the legs in any way that includes grasping, tripping or blocking. A lot of people think Greco just consists of throws, but in reality most points scored in Greco come from pushouts or snap downs to front headlocks. Freestyle can look a lot like Folkstyle other than the mat wrestling or the "parre terre" position. You really do not ride your opponent when you are on top in Freestyle or Greco, rather you get a short amount of time to turn your opponent before you are forced back to the neutral position. Scoring for Greco and Freestyle are very similiar, 1 pt. for takedown, 2 pts. for exposing your opponents shoulder to the mat. 1pt. for holding your opponents shoulder to the mat for a total of 5 continous seconds, 3 pts. if you take your opponent from his feet to his back, 5 pts. if you lift your opponent, exposing his back while landing in the danger (near fall) position, like what was noted previously you also can gain 1 pt. for forcing your opponents entire body out of bounds. To win in the international styles you must win 2 out of the 3 periods and points are not cumulative, but a fall at anytime ends the match. So if you win the first period 6-0 but lose the last two periods 1-0, you still lose although you have the total scoring advantage. There are many other rules, but that is a quick snapshot.

But Brands didn't even TELL Zadick, he found out when M* came and took the job. Granted from some reports Zadick just kind of assumed he had the job and the interview was only a formality, but still. Brands should have told him to his face, you're not getting the job.

That ranking for the ISU recruit is higher than what Ive seen elsewhere. Doesnt matter either way because ISU is done sinking, they have sunk.

Iowa is rumored to have a German national coming in. Projects at 157/165. Former jr world team member. Dont know much else. Wrestling recruiting news is impossible to come by.
