New program for Iowa tailbacks

  • It was just announced, by Phil Haddy, that starting in 2013, all incoming running backs will spend their
Freshman year at Kirkwood college, getting basic general education completed, along with a very intensive
'Just say no' drug/alcohol interdiction education curriculum.

For the naysayers, please recall that Shonn Greene spent the year prior to his being
Big Ten Running back of the year, at Kirkwood.

We may finally get rid of the AIRBHG curse, starting in
2013. This has an excellent chance of being a Win/Win/Win program.

I think we discovered WHY Phil is retired.

I mean after reading Sky's post, it appears that Phil has really went off the deep end......

    Harley........you're joking too, right?

Because if you think this isn't a good idea and we should keep doing whatever the disaster is that we currently run with RB's at Iowa, then perhaps, well, someone else should retire, also.

It could not hurt, that is for sure

    Good point, Sky...

I doubt if I could control my glee if I was a four star running back recruit and was told I'd spend my first year hanging out with my new best friends at the Kirkwood cafeteria.

    Who could resist that offer???

    Yeah Kev, you're right.

Sending all incoming freshman runningbacks to a community college for their first year of college should really spark recruiting.

    Great job!
