Neillsville Wi Ladies going to Madison on a 54 game win streak!!

  • The Neillsville Lady Warriors, my hometown team are the defending Wisconsin State Ladies Div 3 Champions and are returning to Madison in search of a repeat. They are on a 54 game win streak, and only 2 more from that second title. They lost three starters from last years team. But they plugged in the underclassmen from last year and continued to play dynamite defense, just like last year.

    The star of the team, although you only see it by watching them play, is Jenny Lindner, She is a junior and I hope Bluder has heard of here before now. The team wins with smarts and hustle. They do not have any giants playing. Lindner can blow up a game if that is what it takes to win.

    I know, this is not Hawkeye related. But it is comparable to Iowa City West's article earlier this week.

    Hope your girls do it again! Any truth to the rumor you are a volunteer coaching assistant for them?biggrinbiggrin (Maybe teaching them how to act to draw a charge call?)

    LOL. They are pretty tight with those damned red and white uniforms.

    I don't coach or have much contact with the team. My Local Kiwanis club (I am Treasurer and Lt G. of our Div.#19) has a Junior Kiwanian each month. Several this year and last were fresh from Bball practice when we held our meetings at 6:00pm on Monday nights. In every case so far I have been amazed at the sophistication and public service record of those girls. This is a team I would be proud of even if it was no where near as good on the court as they have been. The Head Coach is the School District Superintendent. He does a fantastic job and is as responsible for their success as any of the girls. Makes a town proud to see the job done right and done well.
