Not a big fan of Jason White. If this is true I feel like we are throwing a scholly away.

I haven't heard anything, but I know Todd B is looking into it.

  • All I know is what I was told by Jason at the Insight Bowl and that he was ready to move on with his life at that point.

I'll put my ear to the tracks and see what I hear but I don't think he's coming back.

  • I have no issues with him getting a scholly plus he is a good contributor on special teams. Paki V2.0 baby!

  • I was happy to hear Staggs got one, but White getting one is meh. Can't argue any side on this one, god knows we need all the RB's in the world to make it one season.

15 National Championships and one Urban Meyer heart attack, Roll Tide. 23 NC's in wrestling and one badass Herky, Go Hawks.

  • Not trying to do your job for you Todd, but a source EXTREMELY close to Jason White just told me that he is, in fact, returning on scholarship next season.

I know someone that is "very" close to him...if you know what I mean.

  • Whether it's true or not, whether everyone thinks he deserves it or not, or whether some think the scholarship should have been used somewhere else, I'm very glad that I support a team that rewards walk-ons like White and Staggs. I think it's important to, at times, not place so much emphasis on wins and losses, and step back and recognize some of the things that make the Iowa football program great for all of us, and appreciate some of the things that the program stands for. A great place to start is the walk-on program. I think it's imperative to the program as a whole to reward players for there contributions made to the program, even if those accomplishments weren't earned entirely on Saturdays. Hats off to Jason White.

Couldn't agree more. Jason has given a ton to the program and earned to have a year of his schooling paid for. I'm 100% sure that this is true, so kudos to Jason. Good things happen to those who wait. I'm sure he'll continue to contribute on the field as he begins workings towards his Master's Degree.
