No its not the end all be all of a DB, but there will be some who will undoubtedly question his work ethic because of the below average showing. The 40 time and the flexibility drills will show better at his position. 4.45-4.5 is what I expect pray. How stiff his hips really are will also help determine where he gets drafted. flex

    I'll be watching. popcorn

I don't think that'll lead anyone to question his work ethic. If he'd showed up weighing 230 or 170, or had only done one rep, then maybe his work ethic would be questioned. But he's "in the mix" enough with 12 reps that it shouldn't be a big deal at all.

    Agreed.

First day should be the agility drills. Second day should be pick 3 power lifts: dead lift, hang clean, squat, power clean, bench, snatch. From there they should have the option to show a 90% max or a 225 burnout.

If they really want to gauge each guy's strength, the set up you propose would be much, much better. Honestly, I think one main reason they don't do that is that those lifts are more difficult to police in terms of making sure everyone has proper form and does each rep with full range of motion.

  • Can't reiterate enough how much better I think Mike Mayock is than Mel Kiper and Todd McShay. Not even in the same league.
